Larva tears are unique disposable items that make you respec and assign stats to your character from the very beginning. From our guide you will learn how to perform respec and where to find all the maggot tears on the map from Shadow of the Erdtree.

Respec is a mechanic that allows you to reallocate all of your character's skill points. Unfortunately, you can do this a few times, as it is limited by special items - Larval Tears. Without them you won't be able to respec. In our guide you will learn what you need to do to make a respec as well as how and where to find Larval Tears.

How to respec character stats?

To do this, you must defeat Rennala, Queen of the Full Moon in the base game. She is located in Liurnia of the Lakes, or more precisely in the Raya Lucaria Academy. Once you do this, this boss will become an interactive NPC who will be able to change your character's appearance and reassign your stats.

However, respec is not free. It costs one Larval Tear. The number of these items is very limited, so you cannot afford to constantly change your statistics. Fortunately, with the arrival of Shadow of the Erdtree, you can find additional Larval Tears, which will be useful to check all the spells, incantations and weapons from the DLC.

How to find Larval Tears in the DLC?

Larval Tears can be found in various corners of the Shadow of the Erdtree map. The problem is that they only appear near graves with a blue glow. You will only find them at night, so remember to set the time of day to dusk when going to the locations we have specified! Moreover, it is worth noting that these items do not respawn once they are picked up.

Larval Tear #1 - Gravesite Plain

The first Larval Tear can be found near the Greatbridge, North Site of Grace. Go down to the lower level of the hill, there you will notice blue graves.

Larval Tear #2 - Gravesite Plain

You will find this item in the Gravesite Plain, south of the Scorched Ruins Site of Grace, on a high ground.

Larval Tear #3 - Gravesite Plain

Another Larval Tear is located in the western part of the Gravesite Plain. To get there, start your journey from the Tree-Path Cross Site of Grace. Walking along the main road towards Belurat, turn left into the forest. There you will find a narrow road leading to the western part of this region. From there you will reach the heights of the Gravesite Plain.

Larval Tear #1 - Scadu Altus

Starting the journey from the Highroad Cross Site of Grace, head north-west along the main road. The fastest way to get there is by going through the camp where the flame golem is stationed. The Larval Tear is located near the blue graves, near the Church of the Crusade.

Larval Tear #2 - Scadu Altus

To get there, you need to go to the very top, starting from the Pillar Path Waypoint Site of Grace.

Larval Tear #1 - Rauh Base

Starting from the Ancient Ruins Base Site of Grace, head south. There you will notice two large golems, one with a bow and the other with a melee weapon. Kill them or run past them and go to the indicated place at night.
