Elden Ring, a game which gathered hundreds of thousands of fans, received a DLC yesterday. It is called Shadow of the Erdtree and obviously fans are very excited to play it. Some of them can’t do that though. Why is that? It seems than in some cases DLC is not recognized properly and players can’t access it.

How to Start Elden Ring DLC

First of all, you need check if the DLC was successfully downloaded and implemented. If everything is in proper order, you should have Shadow of the Erdtree signature in the right bottom corner of the starting screen. If it is there, you need to remember that there are some prerequisites before starting the new content. There are some bosses to kill! We have described them in our guide, so feel free to check it out. We have even an interactive map!

If you don’t have the name in the corner, it means that your DLC is not properly downloaded and activated. Do it manually, if you have not done so till now. If you did, reinstall the game, and it should make Shadow of the Erdtree available for you. Other options are to verify files and restart your device / Steam.

There are many various technical issues in Elden Ring right now. It is quite common in the case of big releases, so we shouldn’t be surprised. I’m sure that developers are doing their best to deal with them. Let’s hope that the game will be fixed soon. Patience is key. Good luck.
