Diablo 2 Resurrected: Sorceress - general information Diablo 2 Resurrected guide, tips

On this page of the Diablo 2 Resurrected game guide, you will get general information about the Sorceress class and the builds that can be used effectively for it.

Last update: 01 October 2021

On this page of the guide to Diablo 2 Resurrected you'll find a brief description of the Sorceress class.

The Sorceress is a hero who practically never uses melee weapons. The items she wields are only meant to improve her magic skills, which she uses in standard combat. You have three classes to choose from: fire, lightning and ice magic. Character building is generally easy: you should choose the best skills from a given class, focusing on attack skills - with a good build, you can almost ignore all maic shields, etc. There are also mixed build, through, which can serve to make the Sorceress e.g. a good support in multiplayer.

The Sorceress's close combat often comes down to eliminating the nearest enemies. - Diablo 2 Resurrected: Sorceress - general information - Sorceress - Diablo 2 Resurrected Guide
The Sorceress's close combat often comes down to eliminating the nearest enemies.

Playing as Sorceress is not particularly difficult: you don't really have to worry about losing health points in long-distance fight; since you don't wield any weapon, you also don't need to care about parameters other than mana (at least initially), and you have spells effective both against bosses and enemy groups. However, problems start in the later stages of the game, when you hit enemies resistant to the element that you specialize in...

  1. The Sorceress uses three types of magic: fire, ice, lightning.
  2. She is focused on damage and eliminating enemies quickly.
  3. She has issues with resistant enemies, especially if she invests only in one type of magic.
  4. Practically no melee combat.
  5. At the beginning of the game it's a good idea to use a bow/crossbow, because then the Sorceress has little mana, almost no resistances and few health points.

The Sorceress is moderately difficult to play, but surely this profession will please many players who prefer to fight with magic than sword. We strongly recommend reading about the Sorceress before you play and spend points on random skills. In addition, with the right build she can be one of the most effective characters in the game.

However, the early game as the Sorceress is difficult - she doesn't have much dexterity so she'll miss her regular attacks often; her starting spells aren't very effective and she doesn't have much mana - it's a good idea to spend some more time on lower levels at first, possibly investing into staves which power up your starting spells for free.
