Diablo 2 Resurrected: Loot - where to search for it? Diablo 2 Resurrected guide, tips
Last update: 06 September 2021
On this page of the Diablo 2 Resurrected guide, you'll learn where you should search for loot.
Every area in Diablo 2 Resurrected contains different places where loot - items found via exploring and defeating enemies - can be found. If you're just beginning your journey with Diablo, the tips we're offering will help you not to miss any treasures.
Where to search?
- Common loot drops from defeated enemies. In Diablo 2 Resurrected, there's no need to search through enemy corpses. Enemies that are ressurected during combat (like the Fallen) don't drop any loot.
- In the early game you should primarily sell small, but valuable things: throwing knives, exploding potions and poison potions.
- It's not worth it to invest into monster gold drop bonuses. Items that increase your chance to find magic gear (a Topaz gem inserted into an armor piece has a similar effect) are worth investing in.
- There are also chests: some of them need keys to be opened. Keys are breakable, so it's worthwhile to always carry several of them. Some chests are trapped: a trapped chest can be recognised by a specific sound it makes when opened. If you hear a creak, it's advisable to back off before collecting the loot.
- When indoors, it's worthwhile to examine beds. Sometimes you can also find chests inside of buildings. Other pieces of furniture are always empty.
- Areas set outdoors contain hidden loot underneath smaller and larger rocks. Rocks that cover up loot look slightly different, so soon enough you should learn how to tell them apart from normal rocks.
- Inside of caves you can find dead rogues and skeletons. Sometimes rogues can be found on a wooden stake, among flames.
- In crypts and mausoleums you can find graves and sarcophagi, which sometimes contain mummies along with loot. Breakable barrels, which sometimes explode when destroyed, can also contain items.
- Weapon and armor racks are also worth examining. They don't contain magic items often - usually they provide you with mundane, high-quality gear with no special properties.
- In Act 2, aside from chests and corpses, you can also find bone piles, goo piles or, most importantly, Urns. They're worth examining, even though usually there's a lot of urns in a single room.
The situation is similar in later areas. Still, you shouldn't neglect examining almost everything you see in search of loot - it's often profitable.
