Successor of the Throat | Boss in Code Vein Code Vein guide, walkthrough
Last update: 14 October 2019
Successor of the Throat uses specially created sandy hands to attack you. This boss usually uses two horizontal attacks and one vertical attack. Sticking to the boss is very helpful, because some attacks may not reach you. So, you can freely attack the boss.
Location: Area D-18, Crown of Sand
Rewards: 102 060 Haze, Harmonia Blood Code (if you have collected all Harmonia Vestige) / Queen's Throat.
The first phase may seem very slow. If you have a lot of balance, you can calmly block enemy attacks and nothing will happen to you, except for the loss of stamina. If not, get as close as you can to the boss and attack it from the back. In this phase it will mainly attack with sand hands. Sometimes the boss will submerge her hands in the sand and emerge them underneath your character. The boss uses this type of attack 3 times, then changes her attack type. Watch the sand carefully and dodge it in the right moment.
Occasionally, Successor of the Throat may perform a rotating turn that will cause her hands to rotate. This attack shouldn't reach you if you're close enough to her. If you don't have time to get close to her, perform two rolls when she starts to rotate.
In the second phase, the boss can use new attacks such as a sandstorm, which is signaled by red hands of the boss. Also, the boss has a new sand waves attack that disperse in various directions. It's difficult to avoid them, so it's best to stay close to the boss, just like in the first phase. Her rotational attack lasts even longer and is much more dangerous, stay very close to the boss to avoid all strikes. Even then, you can attack the boss peacefully, without losing your health. Be careful, as the boss can stand still in this phase, activating an explosion that repels you over a long distance and deals moderate damage.
Once you have defeated the boss, move on to the purple Mistle, and you'll get to the next new region.
