Before you start fighting the Successor of the Claw, it's best to arm yourself with as many ice buff weapons and Gifts as possible (to deal damage from ice). In addition, Blood Veil with the highest fire resistance rate will also come in handy.
From the very beginning you should stay very close to the boss, especially her back. When you're standing in front of the boss, it may use its claws to attack you. They're very swift and dangerous. Avoid them by rolling forward behind the boss's back. The boss has other attack which consists in rapid twisting on the ground. Also, watch out for tail attacks. When you are a little further away from the boss, she will begin to quickly charge towards you. The boss indicates such action with one hand placed behind in order to draw the blade. When you see this, get ready for a quick dodge. Instead of getting a blade, the boss can also fire at you with three shurikens, which are quite good at tracking your hero. Focus on the middle shuriken. If you manage to avoid the middle one, the rest shouldn't hit you. Roll forward cause when you roll sideways or backwards you may receive damage from the shurikens.
When boss' health gets reduced by half, the second phase will begin. Do not approach her at this point, as after a while she will cause an explosion around her. After the explosion, she will make the most dangerous move, which is very hard to avoid, and can deal very large amount of damage. When you see a red hand heavily striking the ground, switch off enemy targeting as soon as possible. If you don't do this, the game will do it for you and you may get confused. You won't be able to tell which side the boss is charging from. When you touch the hand on the ground, the boss will disappear for a short while and then quickly attack the player by creating a lava on the ground that deals damage over time.
In this phase, the Successor of the Claw gets a new attack - retrating jump. At the moment of performing the jump, the enemy throws burning stars at the player, which explode after a while. The fight in this phase is very dynamic, you can't make even a simple mistake. Try to attack the boss with ice/frost damage strikes to maximize the damage.
