Butterfly of Delirium | Boss in Code Vein Code Vein guide, walkthrough

Last update: 01 October 2019

Location: Area E - 13, near Park Ruins

Butterfly of Delirium is a boss resembling a combination of a woman with a butterfly and a snake. She strengthens her attacks using Venom. When the poison bar is full, you will start losing health gradually. It is important to approach this fight with as many Anti-Venoms as possible. You should also wear Blood Veil with the biggest defence against venom and physical attacks.

In the first stage, this boss will basically attack you with her snake tail - Butterfly of Delirium | Boss in Code Vein - Bosses - Code Vein Guide

In the first stage, this boss will basically attack you with her snake tail. She telegraphs this attack by raising the tail up. She usually performs two attacks, so be prepared to dodge. After that, you can attack her several times. When you are near her, she can create a cocoon with her wings, spreading poison around her. You have a few seconds to get away from her. Wait until she expands the wings. This will cause a venom explosion - the venom will stay around her for a brief moment. Your attacks often throw her off balance. When you see that Butterfly of Delirium is on her knees, attack her with all you have. When you stand too far from her, she will lift the tail up and then start charging in your direction. You can even roll forward - the thing that matters most is the timing, not the direction (unless you roll backward). Be careful though, because sometimes she leaves behind a cloud of poison. When you see smoke evaporating from the tail, don't come right up to her. When she leans back a bit in the air, she will shoot five toxic projectiles. Don't get too close to her when she is performing this attack - the projectiles expand with the distance.

The second phase can trigger when her health drops to 75%. She gets new attacks, mostly poisonous. One of them allows her to shoot a slow but guided projectile that inflicts Venom. She usually combines this attack with a charge - this move is difficult to dodge. Also, the 2-hit tail combo gets a third attack during which she spins around, shooting projectiles inflicting Venom. However, she doesn't have to perform this attack only as a combination finisher - she can use it as a second combo attack or as a stand-alone move. During her last new attack, she turns around and spreads poison in a wide area - don't approach her. When it is over, she can start spreading smoke - this is a good opportunity to attack. When you are near her, she will guard herself with a cocoon and the 3-hit combo. If you back off, she will start shooting poison and charging towards you.
