Goal of the Stagnant Blood is actually a one long way to face the final battle against the main bosses, Skull King and The Virgin Born. These are hard and tough enemies - they're final bosses of entire the game. Remember that once you've defeated the Skull King, your life will not recover. So, you won't be able to refill your health as it was available before. That's why you'll either have to be careful not to use a lot of heals in an earlier battle against Skull King, or just step back as fast as possible when fighting The Virgin Born (use a Vivifier to save some Haze). Fighting them is difficult, so the second option is recommended.
