Why can't Zane throw grenades in Borderlands 3? Borderlands 3 guide, walkthrough
Last update: 24 September 2019
On this page of the Borderlands 3 guide, we describe the challenge you may face when choosing Zane. You'll learn why Zane can't use grenades, and how to unlock grenades again for her.
Zane stands out from the other classes with her ability to use two active Action Skills.
The left slot in the skills window allows you to assign an Action Skill, which is triggered in the same way as in the case of other classes - L1/LB key on consoles.
By default, the right slot is for grenades based on the installed Grenade Mod. However, you can replace the grenade slot with a second skill. If you choose to do this step, it will be activated by the button previously used to throw grenades-R1 / RB on consoles.
Since the installation of the second skill, you cannot throw grenades-instead, you trigger the second Action Skill. Grenade Mod does not become, however, useless, because grenades are associated with some of Zane's passive skills. Examples of such skills can be Fractal Frags or Duct Tape Mod from the Doubled Agent tree. In the future, you have to take care to change the Grenade Mods from the inventory to upgraded versions.
The game allows you to release a second slot to use grenades again. In the character development window, click the Manage Loadout button (Triangle / Y on consoles), select the right slot and selectUnequip. From now on the slot will be empty again and pressing R1/RB will result in throwing a grenade.
on our part, we encourage you to stay with two Action Skills. You will have more variety of attacks. Action Skills can be triggered simultaneously, or one at a time. Grenades, as we mentioned, will not lose their value and in certain circumstances will still be able to help you in the weakening the opponents.
