Last update: 24 September 2019
This page of the guide to Borderlands 3 has a walkthrough for the side quests available on Pandora. Our guide will tell you how to unlock side quests on Pandora, how to complete them and have information on whether they have additional goals that can give you additional rewards.
Powerful Connections
How to start the quest: Get to the exclamation mark in The Droughts region. It is Marcus's faulty vending machine.
Follow the yellow wire to find the damaged fuse box. You get an objective to get a Skag Spine. You also receive an optional objective to obtain a Human Spine. Try to complete both goals.
You can get a Skag Spine by reaching the marked area and attacking Skags. Be careful - one of the monsters may be a badass variant. After the battle, find the quest item. You can get a Human Spine by attacking the bandits camp marked on the map. Look for the quest item dropped by one of the enemies.
Go back to the fuse box. If you completed the optional goal, try installing the Human Spine first. It was Marcus's joke, and ultimately you still need to "install" the Skag Spine.
By completing the optional objective, you unlock Marcus's stash. Jump into the underground bunker and collect loot. The universal reward (aside from xp, credits, and the Marcus Bobble cosmetic item) is the ability to use the vending machine selling weapons.
Bad Reception
How to start the quest: Get to the exclamation mark in The Droughts region and talk to Claptrap.
Claptrap asks you to get five different items that can replace its lost antenna. The locations, marked on The Droughts map, can be visited in any order.
In the Old Laundry, you need to destroy the hatch leading to an underground location. You have to get on a nearby hill and stand in place presented in the picture above. Make a short jump and then press the crouch button while you are in the air. Your character will hit the hatch hit with tremendous force. Search the laundry to get a Wire Hanger.
Climb the Satellite Tower. Look around for places where you can climb up. An Antenna is on one of the top shelves.
In Sid's Stop, you will encounter a single Sid fanatic. Talk to him. You have to destroy three small satellite dishes. Their locations are marked on the map. Two satellite dishes are located farther away - zoom in and aim at them or you can use a weapon with a scope. Talk to Sid again and kill him. Take the Tinfoil Hat.
In Spark's Cave, you will encounter a new problem - an electric trap. You can run through it hoping the shock damage won't kill you. However, the better idea is to shoot the shield presented in the picture above to get rid of the discharges. Take the Spork quest item from the fanatic's body.
Inside the Old Shack, you will find a Tink Sentry. Shoot it. The cabin doors close when you walk up to them. The solution is simple - start sprinting and press the crouch button to perform a slide. This will allow you to get inside the hut before the gate is closed. Kill the Badass Tink and collect the Umbrella.
Return with all items to Claptrap. You will get XP and credits. You can talk to him to choose which of the 5 items he should use as his antenna.
Dump on Dumptruck
How to start the quest: Get to the exclamation mark in The Droughts region (notice board)
Go to the Bloodbucket's Chapel where The Holy Dumptruck, the leader of bandits, is. When you get there, the first thing you should do is to eliminate the regular fanatics. The mini-boss will emerge from one of the upper rooms - this enemy hides behind a shield. If you want to get an extra mission target, wait for your opponent to turn around and shoot him in the ass. Another good moment to attack the mini-boss is to wait for the moment when he stops hiding behind the shield.
After killing the mini-boss, get to the closed trapdoor. Here, you have to solve a puzzle involving the fuse box. Follow the yellow cable and stop in the place where it was cut.
Look up and shoot the large shield (image above) with any weapon. This will cause the water to start flowing.
Now aim at the smaller shield shown in the attached image. Hitting it will restore power supply.
You can already return to the secret door, which opened thanks to power flowing to the fuse box. Jump into the shaft to find yourself in The Holy Dumptruck's hideout. The mission is complete - you get XP, credits, and rare Buttplug weapon (only if you completed the optional objective). Open the large chest with loot - you will find a random gear. Press the big green button to unlock the exit from the hideout.
Golden Calves
How to start the quest: Available after completing From the Ground Up main quest - go to the exclamation mark in The Droughts region. It is a statue in the base where Lilith and Vaughn are.
This mission is related to the Ascension Bluff region. You also should be at level 8 or higher. The first part of the mission is about reaching the three posters marked on the map - tear each one of them down. They are all in the location with bandits, so expect trouble.
Another goal of the mission is to get to a place with a 3D printer and place posters in it. Check the printed statues.
The last task is to destroy 3 COV statues and replace them with 3 Vaughn statues. The game will mark more than 3 locations to explore. You don't have to visit them all. You can choose any 3 of them. Destroy old statues with a melee attack. After that, go back to Vaughn in The Droughts. You get XP, credits and a rare shield.
Under Taker
How to start the quest: Get to the exclamation mark in The Droughts region (notice board)
The goal of this mission is to deal with the eponymous enemy Under Taker. Wait with this quest until you reach at least level 7-8. You need to visit the enemy camp located near the entrance to the Ascension Bluff.
Start by attacking ordinary psychos and fanatics. Under Taker is a slightly stronger opponent that can deal a lot of damage, especially at a short distance. Kill him to end the mission - you get XP, credits and a rare shotgun.
Skag Dog Days
How to start the quest: Get to the exclamation point in The Droughts region (the notice board near the Highway fast travel point).
This mission is about getting ingredients for Chef Frank. Start by going to the location where a weapon called Big Succ is stored. You have to get on the small hill presented in the picture. Then, you have to sprint and jump over the chasm. This will allow you to get to the place where the Big Succ assault rifle is.
Big Succ requires you to be on at least level 7. If you are a lower level, go back to this quest later. After fulfilling the requirements, place the Big Succ rifle in one of the active weapon slots.
Go to the specified location - there, you will encounter, e.g. Cacti. Switch to Big Succ's alternate fire mode, that is, a Grenade Launcher. Fire at Cacti with a Grenade Launcher and collect Cactus Fruits. You have to collect 5 of them.
The quest's second objective is to get 5 Succulent Skag Meat. Kill Skags in the areas marked on the map and pick up quest items. You need to collect a total of 5 pieces of meat.
The next part of the mission is to kill a Succulent Alpha Skag. This creature is hiding in a cave marked on the map. The Alpha Skag is slightly more durable than regular versions. Try to avoid its leaps and shoot from a distance. Kill the creature to get Succulent Alpha Skag Meat.
That isn't all. Go to a new location. There, you will find three mini-bosses - Mincemeat, Trufflemunch and Buttmunch. These slightly stronger enemies are at levels 6-8. It is best to eliminate them one by one - try to attack them from a greater distance. After that, pick up Succulent Flavored Skag Meat.
To complete the mission, you need to bring all the ingredients to Chef Frank. Get to the specified box and place the items. As a reward for the mission, you receive XP and credits.
Head Case
How to start the quest: Get to the exclamation mark in the Ascension Bluff region after defeating Mouthpiece boss during the Cult Following main quest.
Interact with the head in the jar. Take it with you. You need to get it to the location you went through while you were heading to the Holy Broadcast Center. Place the head in the marked spot and use the computer to turn on the VR simulation.
During the simulation, the game will use and screen filter. However, it won't affect the gameplay.
Head back to the Holy Broadcast Center. Note the additional mission objective about finding 4 Memory Fragments. They are all marked on the map, so you don't need to look for them. Each Vic's ECHO Log is in a small container (example in the picture).
On the way to the Holy Broadcast Center, you will encounter enemies. However, you shouldn't have problems with eliminating them. The only ones you should watch out for are the badass variants. After collecting all the records, go to Vic to start a conversation.
You must defeat a mini-boss called Interrogator. He has a yellow armor bar, so try to use the right weapon. You should also try to keep a distance from the boss - his short-distance attacks deal the most damage. After the battle, go back to the computer to end the VR simulation. Talk to Vic. You get XP, credits and a rare sniper rifle (if you have completed the optional mission objective).
