This page of the guide to Borderlands 3 contains a walkthrough for Hostile Takeover, one of the main missions. This is a long quest in which you have to, e.g. meet with important allies - Lorelei, Rhys and Zer0. As part of this mission, you will have a boss fight with Gigamind.

You need to go down to the lowest deck of the ship and talk to Ellie. Interact with the Drop Pod to leave the Sanctuary. You reach Promethea, or rather its first region - Meridian Outskirts.

Start moving towards the place from which the SOS signal is transmitted. As always, careful exploration of the map is recommended but not mandatory.

You reach the source of the SOS signal and encounter Lorelei. Talk to her and get to the nearby garage. Use the Catch-A-Ride station to call a vehicle.

You need to travel through a significant part of the Meridian Outskirts. Lorelei will travel in her Cyclone. You don't need to protect her because her car can't be destroyed. You have to destroy COV Hover Technical, an enemy vehicle. You can do this by using the weapons mounted on your vehicle. The destroyed vehicle will leave an ECHO Log. You don't need to get out of the car to get it. It is enough to ride over the item.

Reach the destination. Exit the vehicle and continue on foot.

Wait until you are allowed to enter the allied base and then go through it. The base will be attacked by Maliwan troops. You don't have to rush to protect defenseless allies - there aren't any penalties for their deaths.

After dealing with the enemies, continue walking with Lorelei. You have to get to the exit from the map and move to a new location - Meridian Metroplex.

Go towards the nearby Watershed Base - you need to liberate it. Reach the big square adjacent to the base - you will encounter a large group of enemies. Watch out for, e.g. Riot Troopers who use shields. Aim for their heads or try to attack them when they turn around.

After clearing the area, press the button and enter the base. Pyrotech Heavy, more challenging opponents, will appear. It is better to eliminate them one after another.

Go to the central terminal to contact Rhys. Go with Lorelei to the garage. You will get access to a new type of vehicle - Cyclone. Its use is optional - you can drive your previous vehicle. Due to Cyclone's small size, it can make traveling around the city a little easier.

You must go to the recently specified location where the Atlas mercenary should be. Reach the destination and continue on foot. You have to go through the Meridian Mercantile - there are many enemies there.

The Atlas mercenary is Zer0. Talk to him and move on to the next location in which you have to fight with bots. Try to use attacks that weaken armor. After the battle, use the terminal to disable the force field. This leads to another battle. This time, you need to eliminate enemy soldiers. As always, watch out for the badass variants. Several of these elite enemies will take part in the battle. Luckily, Zer0 will help you in this fight.

Go through the hole in the wall to the weapons depot. You will find a lot of chests with new equipment. However, the quest requires you to open the one marked by the game. Take Holoblade Upgrade. Give it to Zer0. In return, he will give you a rare sniper rifle.

Wait for Zer0 to use the new upgrade - he will cut the force field with his sword.

Meet with Zer0 in the Halcyon Spaceport - this place is marked on the map. Before you go there, return to the allied base to recover health and restock ammo. Soon, you will have a boss fight.

Go to the space port. Wait for Zer0 to cut the barricade. Time for a boss fight - defeat Gigamind. It is worth noting that you need to defeat the boss without Zer0's help. He will only act as a spectator here.

The first phase of the boss fight is surprisingly simple. Gigamind will fly on a kind of board and perform regular distance attacks. Try to avoid them and use any firearm you like. Reduce the first health bar of the boss to zero, it has a blue color.

The second phase of the battle will begin when Gigamind has only a red health bar. The boss will start hiding behind the shield. Look for the opportunity to attack him from the side or from his back. Your attacks may break through the shield, but they will be significantly weakened.

Be careful, especially in the moment when boss' shield turns into red color. After that, Gigamind uses his shield to launch heave fire from his weapons. Run through the time on the map and focus on avoiding enemy attacks. If you are under heavy fire from the boss, you can be seriously weakened very quickly.

Assault Trooper troops will soon appear in the arena. It is worth to pay attention to drones flying above them, which may surround them with powerful energy shields. After destroying such a small drone, you will be able to attack a soldier effectively. Remember this especially if you are knocked down and want to return to the fight by using Second Wind.

In the final phase of the fight, Gigamind will gain a few new attacks. The boss will try to send drone clusters at you and generate some kind of tornadoes. In both cases, run a lot on the map to avoid becoming an easy target. Take advantage of the fact that you can constantly attack Gigamind, as he has lost his shield.

The defeated boss will leave a lot of loot - credits, eridium and various items. Find the Gigabrain to complete this quest.

Take the Gigabrain to the Watershed Database. Contact Rhys again and place the Gigabrain into the Gigareader. The quest is complete. You unlock a new main quest called The Impending Storm.
