Last update: 16 September 2019
On this page of our guide to Borderlands 3 you will find the answer to the question - How to increase inventory's capacity of the main character, how to store more loot in your inventory and how to carry more ammunition. With the help of paid improvements, you can expand your inventory.
You can get interested in the subject of inventory expansion for the first time once you have started the main Sanctuary quest, when you board the Sanctuary spacecraft used to travel between planets.
You must visit Marcus' shop aboard the ship, namely Marcus' SDU Counter. It is shown in the above pictures.
Each inventory upgrade costs some credits and subsequent upgrades in the same category are more and more expensive - 1000 credits, 3000, 9000 etc. Available improvements:
- Pistol SDU - you can carry more ammunition for guns.
- Shotgun SDU - you can carry more ammunition for shotguns.
- Heavy SDU - you can carry more ammunition for heavy weapons (like rocket launchers).
- Sniper Rifle SDU - you can carry more sniper rifle ammo.
- Assault Rifle SDU - you can carry more ammunition for assault rifles.
- SMG SDU - you can carry more ammunition for submachine guns.
- Grenades SDU - you can carry more grenades.
- Backpack SDU - This is one of the most important improvements. You can carry more items in your inventory. Developing this position will make it easier for you to collect the loot. You won't have to leave some things behind or go back to the vendor machines that often in order to sell unnecessary loot.
- Bank SDU - you can store more items in the bank on board the Sanctuary. It's a good place to store, for example, earned legendary items or weapons that you can't use yet.
- Lost Loot SDU - you can remove more of the omitted loot from the machine on the Sanctuary deck.
