How to decipher Eridian Writing in Borderlands 3? Borderlands 3 guide, walkthrough
Last update: 01 October 2019
On this page of the guide to Borderlands 3, you will learn why you can't decipher Eridian Writing found on the Eridian Slab. This is not a game error - translating the messages written on the slabs is possible only after obtaining a certain Eridian artifact.
Eridian Slabs with Eridian Writing can be right from the start. Their appearance may vary depending on the planet on which they were found. They are always marked with the same icon on the map screen.
At first, you won't be able to do anything with them. Do not waste time trying to interact with a slab. However, this doesn't mean that finding Eridian Writing is meaningless. The locations of the slabs are permanently added to the region map - you can return to them later.
To translate Eridian Writing, you have to complete the 19th chapter of the game - The Great Vault main quest. After dealing with the boss of this quest, you will get access to the Vault on Pandora - Vault of the Architects.
Once you are inside the Vault, get to the pedestal and take the Eridian Analyzer.
From now on, you can translate Eridian Writing. Reach an Eridian Slab and press the interact button (Translate action). Each interaction gives 25 Eridium and you will be able to listen to the audio recordings.
