Location maps are Alan Wake 2 collectibles that facilitate exploration of the area. From this guide page, you will learn where to find all the maps of the regions visited by Saga (including Cauldron Lake and Bright Falls).

The exploration of main locations in Alan Wake 2 can be made easier with interactive maps that you'll have a chance of obtaining during the course of the campaign. Unfortunately, each map has to be found first, as they also fall in the category of collectibles. On this page of our guide, we show procurement locations of all maps for Saga's chapters, i.e. all parts of the Return story. These include the area of Cauldron Lake and town of Bright Falls.

How and why use the maps?

1. By default, you are without a map for each new location you explore. Without a map, you may have trouble properly exploring locations, as you don't know the locations of important landmarks and investigation areas. While carrying one, interactive icons can appear on it marking e.g. passages or found secrets. This facilitates thorough and complete exploration of regions.
2. A found map shows the entire location, but this doesn't mean that it won't be rewritten. The game may modify its fragments as you enter new areas. Not all places can be explored right away, and some are revisited by Saga in later stages of the campaign.
3. You can bring up maps and view them in Mind Place. With a map open, black rectangles show locations to which you don't have a map yet.

Cauldron Lake map

1. This map can be picked up in Cauldron Lake's Parking Lot, which is the place where you begin the exploration of this region. Casey should stop for a moment when he comes across it.

Bright Falls map

1. This map is inside Elderwood Palace Lodge, where Saga parks her car after reaching the town for the first time.
2. Go inside the building and go right. The map is on the desk in the corner of the room.

Sherrif's Office Map

1. This map is found in the reception area of the police station, i.e. the first room which you'll enter while following Sheriff Baker.
2. Look for it on the wall behind the wide reception desk.

Watery map

1. The map is inside the Suomi Hall building in Downtown Watery. This is where Saga will park her car and start exploring the area.
2. You'll find the map in one of the corners in front of the desk.

Valhalla Nursing Home map

1. You can acquire the map right after your first visit at the Valhalla Nursing Home in Return 5. Go to the main entrance of the building - after talking to Rose, you can go inside.
2. Don't follow Rose right away, instead go to the Office on the right - the map is hanging on the wall. The map shows all the floors of the mansion, including the basement, which is reached a little later.

Wellness center map

1. The map can be found right after entering the Wellness center, past the Valhalla Nursing Home.
2. After entering the first room of the Wellness Center, you'll find the map hanging on the wall.
