One of the major types of collectibles in Alan Wake 2 are Cult Stashes. On this page of our guide, you can find a list and exact locations of all Cult Stashes from Cauldron Lake, a region which you'll traverse the most as Saga. Additionally, we have also prepared solutions for Cult Stashes puzzles which involve e.g. finding a combination or a key to the stash's padlock.

Stash next to Murder Site and mobile home

You'll find one of the Cult Stashes near the murder site and the mobile home. This is the southern part of the Cauldron Lake map.

1. You can approach the stash either during the first visit to Cauldron Lake (Return 1) or later on (when playing as Saga).
2. Examining the container will allow you to find a note with a hint. The stash is closed with a padlock and completing the puzzle requires finding and selecting 3 correct symbols.

1. You need to explore the trailer and remember to use a flashlight because it's very dark inside.
2. The first clue is to wash your hands. Explore the area around the kitchen sink and you'll find the first symbol, as shown in the picture.

1. The second clue is to take the chicken out of the fridge. Examine the side of the fridge and you'll find the second symbol from the picture.

1. The third clue is to take a nap. Go to the room with mattresses, where you'll find the third symbol from the picture.

1. You can now return to the stash. Point the cursor to the padlock as shown in the screenshot above.
2. Enter the symbols one by one, starting from the top - the first symbol, then the second symbol, and finally the third symbol. Entering the correct combination will open the container, inside which you'll find regular loot.

Stash in western Cauldron Lake

You can find this box at the earliest after making enough progress in Return 2.

1. Namely, you need to defeat the first boss of the game, which will result in water levels dropping, unlocking new areas, such as the western shore of Cauldron Lake which is our destination for this stash.
2. Once in the area, you must cross below a felled tree, which will lead to a stash found on the beach surrounded by other felled trees - we show it in the screenshots above.

1. You'll see a sequence of buttons lighting up green. Your task is to repeat this combination. If you weren't ready, you can press the sequence retry button. The green button combination will be played again.
2. The chest contains a note, an inventory upgrade for Saga (with it, a new row of slots for items will be added) and some standard loot.

Stash near the creek in Crow's Foot Hills

The earliest you can reach the container is during Return 2.

1. For the stash to be accessible, you need to defeat the first boss, which will result in water levels dropping, unlocking new areas - for this stash, we are going to the western part of Witch's Hut in Crow's Foot Hills.
2. Explore the forest to find the stash (screenshots above).

1. It is locked, so equip your flashlight and locate yellow arrows drawn on trees and rocks. Follow them south.
2. The arrows will finally lead you to an area where there is Streamside Stash Key on one of the rocks. Return with the collected key to the stash and open it. This stash contains a note and some standard loot.

Stash near a home

You must make enough progress in Return 2.

1. Namely, you need to defeat the first boss of the game, which will result in unlocking of the north-western part of Cauldron Lake. Among other areas of interest, there is a Private Cabin here which contains a Break Room inside.
2. Explore the area south-east from the Cabin. Our screenshots show the cult stash, which is initially locked. A note found near the stash contains a tip regarding finding 2 rocks and 1 tree.

1. You must equip the Flashlight and locate yellow writings.
2. On the rocks close to the stash you'll find 3+3, so 6 is the first digit of the code.

1. The second rock where further numbers appear is the toughest to locate. Look for it on the other side of a stream south-west from the stash. You'll find 7-2 written, so 5 is the second digit of the combination.

1. There is a tree not far from the stash. On the tree, you'll find 6+2 written, so 8 is the final digit of the combnation.
2. Return to the stash and interact with the padlock. You must input the code starting from the first digit.
3. The code is 658. Inside the container, you'll find a note and some common loot.

Stash in private cabins

You cannot reach this stash during the first two visits to Cauldron Lake. The earliest you can get to it is in Return 6.

1. The entrance to the cottage area is in the eastern part of the map and bolt cutters are required.
2. Go to cottage 1, which also has a break room. The box is in a side room and you need to find the key.

1. You need to go to the northern end of the Summer Houses. The main passage is blocked by a large fallen tree and you have to go through the 2 eastern houses.
2. Find a tree with a yellow number 2 painted on it. The key to the stash you are looking for is on the ground at its base. Return to the container to get the message and common loot.
