How Writer's Journeys look like and where can I view them?
Writer's Journey collectibles take the form of psychedelic videos displayed on TV sets encountered in Dark Place. The videos feature commentary by the frustrated writer who slowly descends into madness. When you find such a collectible, the title of the video should appear in the bottom left corner of the screen along with a VHS cassette icon.
If at any time you want to revisit one of Writer's Journeys videos, you can do that from Writer's Room. Choose the "TV" tab or simply approach the device and then choose the video you're interested in. The video will be played once again.
The Dark Place
The first writer's journey called "Dark Place" is at the very beginning of Alan's story. During the escape from the TV studio and soon after finding the lamp, you'll enter a room filled with TV sets. Use the lamp here to activate the video - this action also concludes the chapter.
Writing
You can find the next Journey just a few moments later. After entering the dark streets of New York and answering the phone, proceed north via Ocean Avenue. After a short hike, you'll encounter a storefront on your left. The TV sets behind the glass playback the video you're interested in.
Murder Sites
While traversing the metro tunnels, at some point you'll find a Break Room in the central part of the location. Inside the Break Room, there is a TV that playbacks the next part of Writer's Journey.
The Dark Presence
This collectible is found after completing a longer musical sequence. The new Writer's Journey will be played in the same storefront as the "Writing" video.
Visions
This collectible is in room 101 on the ground floor of Oceanview Hotel. Initially, the door to this room is locked.
You will find the needed key in the Ballroom on the first floor of the hotel. Look for it in a small Break Room located on the western side of the Ballroom.
Drowning
This video is easily missed. After completing the sequence in the hotel and returning to the TV studio, you'll be asked to collect Alice's photos from the building's basement. After retrieving the photographs, backtrack through a few corridors, but stay in the basement. At the stairs leading to the janitor room, turn right until you reach a room with multiple TVs. This is the same room where you've watched the first video. Use the lamp here to conclude the chapter and collect the next part of Writer's Journey.
Remember that you need to have collected Alice's photographs to get this video to play!
Stop Writing
A easily encountered collectible found in Break Room in the cinema. The room is found right from the entrance to the building.
Initiation
The last of the Writer's Journeys is available during the monochrome sequence with the Grandmaster at the cinema. During the third loop, after reaching the large room, look for a door with a red "EXIT" sign in a small nook to the left of the door you entered through.
