At the end of the Lakeview Hotel in Silent Hill 2 Remake you will have to solve the final, two-part puzzle - your task is to activate a music box. On this page of the guide we have described how to direct the figures towards the door and how many times to turn the keys.
Each puzzle in the game has three variants depending on the chosen level of puzzle difficulty. You choose it at the beginning of the game and you cannot change it later. The puzzle below was solved on the recommended, normal difficulty level.
About the puzzle
The puzzle takes place in the lobby of the Lakeview Hotel, at the very end of the location, after collecting the three figurines. The inner mechanism of the music box consists of several circles, where you will see engraved paths. There are also three pairs of doors here, where you have to lead the figures to. The main goal of the puzzle is therefore to arrange the circles in such a way that they create a path for each figure.
Once you have positioned the circles correctly, you still need to activate the music box. There are three keys inside that you must turn a certain number of times. Under the keys, you will find short poems that will guide you in the right direction.
How to set the circles?
You have to set up the circles visually. Don't let the maze of paths confuse you - what matters is that the three paths leading from the figures to the door are uninterrupted. We showed the correct solution in the screenshot above. After setting the circles, press the golden button.
If you have chosen a correct combination of the circles, the puzzle will move on to the second part. Pay attention to the third lines of each verse - that's where the answer is hidden. You have to turn the first key seven times, the second one five times and the third one - once. After turning the keys, press the golden button to start the music box. If you have wound it correctly, the music box will start playing and you will receive a key to the hall on the third floor. You can now go to room 312 and finish James's journey.
