You can find the Sandshifter mission in the Desolate Fort. The area to track the beast in is next to the flag used for travelling between locations.

Use the rock pillars to avoid enemy attack.

The Sandshifter is the same type of enemy as the Splittooth and Spinewretch. Avoid his area attacks by hiding behind rocks. The arena is quite large, so you don't risk getting stuck between the enemies. As long as you keep moving, everything will be fine. Every now and then you'll have to deal with some shooting monsters and Alpha Perforo. Take down all beasts that are in your way. Try to aim for the head to deal as much damage as possible. There will be some flying monsters at the beginning, too - it's best to take these out first.
