Outriders: Character Development Outriders guide, walkthrough
Last update: 15 April 2021
This section of the guide to Outriders contains all the relevant information about the character development mechanics.
In Outriders, you will continually upgrade your character by levelling up, changing equipment, unlocking additional unique skills, and by spending Class Points, which are used to unlock Nodes in the subclass skill trees. All this means that one character class in Outriders can be developed in many different ways, so everyone is sure to find a build that suits their own play style.
Character level - experience points
Experience points in Outriders are necessary to level up the character, thus increasing their stats, unlocking additional class skills and earning Class Points.
The current level, as well as the character's experience bar, is located at the top of the screen, above the World Tier bar, and is marked in the image above. Remember that the level cap in Outriders has been set to Level 30.
If you want to know how to quickly gain experience points in Outriders, take a look at the section Experience - how to gain it quickly?
Skills
At the beginning of the game, every new character in Outriders has only 1 basic skill and the other 7 can be unlocked after reaching a certain level:
- First skill: Level 1;
- Second skill: Level 3;
- Third skill: Level 4;
- Fourth skill: Level 6;
- Fifth skill: Level 9;
- Sixth skill: Level 13;
- Seventh skill: Level 17;
- Eighth skill: Level 22.
Class Points
Each class available in Outriders has access to 3 unique subclasses, which significantly affect the play style and determine each class's role in multiplayer. As you level up, you unlock Class Points that can be spent on unlocking larger or smaller Nodes from the three available skill trees - these increase your character's stats or provide additional bonuses to particular weapons or when using specific skill groups.
It should be noted here that the Class Points aren't unlocked after each consecutive level-up, but are granted after crossing a certain threshold. In Outriders, you can unlock a maximum of 20 Class Points, of which the final point comes only after reaching the level cap (30lvl character).
Outriders features a free Class Points reset mechanic, which allows you to freely change your character's builds and test new configurations.
