Once the opponent has built up resistance, they will have a blue aura around them. In this state, no effects work on the opponent. After a short time, the effect disappears and you'll be able to damage them again. Slow Trap, which will significantly slow down your opponent's movements. Eliminating an elite opponent fast will require you to adjust your mods and skill tree better. Skills that add extra status and thus increasing the damage are especially recommended for this.

A good example of fast damage in a very short period of time is the Trickster with his shotgun, his passive skills from the assassin tree (those that increase shotgun damage), and Twisted Rounds - this combination is deadly at close range even against elite opponents.

You can also find more about effects and skill interruption in the Status Effects chapter.
