In this section of the guide you will find a collection of starting tips for playing Outriders. We have included various hints and tips for beginner players. They mainly related to various actions on the battlefield.

Try to regenerate your health bar and shield.

Each character class has a different way of regenerating health and shield (usually through skills). For example, Trickster restores health points for each close-range kill - it can involve takedowns in hand-to-hand combat or by a shotgun. The better you balance hiding behind cover and using the skills, the better you'll do in combat.

Use covers

As you wait for your skills to cool down, you will have to use covers quite often. Try to jump between them from time to time - otherwise, the enemies will force you to change the cover by throwing grenades at you. It's also a good idea to have an escape route ready just in case, especially if you are dealing with a lot of enemies in hand-to-hand combat (they can be quite annoying).

Customize weapons to your class and playing style

It is quite important to choose a weapon suitable for your class - for example, as a Trickster you will prefer close range weapons, since every close range kill will heal you. The right weapon-class combination will make you more efficient and better suited to survive. Also, remember that some items in the equipment can even give you some skill bonuses, as shown in the picture below.

Don't skip the side quests

In addition to rewards like equipment, you will be able to unlock new traders. Replaying the side quests also makes sense, as you always get different rewards for completing them. Additionally, you can find resources necessary for crafting during each replay.

During the missions you can find places with extractable resources.

Avoid grenades

Enemies will often throw grenades at you quite often - avoid them at all costs. They will always be able to throw hard enough to reach your hiding spot. Some enemies also drop explosives after they die, so it's quite important to remain in motion.

You will know if a grenade is about to go off by a red area on the ground.

Experiment with the skill tree

The skill trees are available for each class in the game. Spent points unlock additional passive bonuses and skill bonuses - some of them are situation-dependent, e.g. increased damage against stronger enemies. The entire tree can be reset and all points restored, so you can experiment with various bonuses however you want to.

You can reset the points whenever you want.
