How to prevent the death of Kara in Detroit Become Human? Detroit Become Human guide, walkthrough
Last update: 06 July 2018
Kara, as one of the main heroes of Detroit: Become Human, introduces the least changes to the world of the game - she is quite independent and her actions are not significant for the events presented at the end of the game and don't interact strongly with the other heroes - though she meets them on her way . In this chapter, we will show you in which places of the storyline Kara may die or end her story in a different way, and how to avoid it, getting a happy end.
Stormy night
In this chapter penalty may die or end her story in many ways:
- She will end her story if she hasn't received positive relationships with Alice in the chapter New House.
- She will end her story if she doesn't move (she won't become a defect) after Alice escapes to the top, and Todd prohibits moving Kara.
- Kara won't get to the bus when she goes outside.
- Kara won't start escaping through the corridor on the first floor, after leaving Alice's room with her, when they are running from Todd.
- Kara will lose the battle against Todd on the ground floor.
- If you will not perform QTE correctly when escaping through the garden.
On the Run
During the escape from the place where Kara and Alice spent the night in the Fugitives chapter, if Connor finds them or if they are targeted by police officers patrolling the streets, Connor's pursuit of the girls will begin. If he doesn't reach them, they are safe. If he catches them next to the fence behind which the motorway is located, Kara will have to cross the road to the other side - if she fails, she will die. It's worth noting that if Connor doesn't chase them, QTE is much shorter, so the chances of surviving of Kara increase rapidly.
Zlatko
Part of the Zlatko chapter runs in the same way - Kara always goes with him to the basement, where her memory is erased. She can prevent it in order to facilitate the successful completion of the chapter.
- But if Kara's memory is erased, she must find the clues that will restore her memory in a specified time - if not, she'll end her story.
- If Kara starts to flee with Alice from Zlatko's house and she is noticed, the chase will start. Kara may then die in the warehouse or in the bathroom (you can skip QTE in the rest of the places, as she will always survive).
Midnight Train
In the Midnight Train chapter, neither Kara nor Alice can die or end their story. However, Luther may die, which slightly affects the development of events in the following chapters and leads to a slightly worse conclusion. Luther dies if he is found by a policeman while he's hiding in a kitchen, or if the policeman is unconvinced that there are no defects in the house (if you have poorly concealed the traces), and then he wants to check the laundry where the androids are hiding: then Luther will throw himself to help them and die to defend them.
Crossroads
In this chapter, Kara can die and end her story in only one place. If you get out of the ship safely and reach the scene where police officers shoot at escaping defects, pretend to be dead to escape. However, if you notice that a policeman is approaching Alice and you try to defend her by resisting the police, both girls will be killed.
The remaining bad endings of the chapter, i.e. choosing the wrong escape routes, losing time when decisions need to be taken, or failure in numerous QTEs, and trying to resist soldiers shooting to the crowds outside the ship, will result in the androids being captured. This is not the same as their death or the end of the story, but there will be a different course of action for the next chapter, where it's easier to get a bad ending.
Battle for Detroit
During the Battle for Detroit chapter of the Kara story, she and Alice may die or prematurely end the story (e.g. if only Alice dies or Kara leaves her) in several places, and you may die almost every step of the way. Intermediate factors that can influence the success of Kara are almost all the events in her history: the rescue and survival of Luther, meeting Ralph or the release of androids from the Zlatko basement.
To correctly complete this chapter and avoid death, read carefully the chapter about passing the Battle for Detroit - Kara's chapter.
