Battle for Detroit - Markus | Detroit Become Human Walkthrough Detroit Become Human guide, walkthrough
Last update: 06 July 2018
Battle for Detroit has many solutions, and in the case of Markus it depends mainly on what steps he has taken, leading to a peaceful or aggressive path. Also important will be the relationship with North, the fact of having an explosives charge from the previous chapter (Crossroads) and whether Connor remained a machine or became a defect.
Peaceful demonstration
The start of this chapter looks exactly the same and you don't make any significant decisions at all. During construction and maintenance of the blockade:
- Select a slogan,
- Talk to a frightened android,
- Talk to a nervous android,
- Talk to North,
- Place your flag,
- Observe soldiers,
- Observe the detonator,
- Ignite the barrel,
- Read the newspaper on the bench.
When Perkins arrives and a deal is proposed, the decisions weighing the end of the chapter begin. If you agree to the deal, you will quickly end the story of Markus, cause after betraying his people he will also die.
By disagreeing for the deal you develop more possibilities:
- If you don't press any button while defending the barricade, you will die,
- North will devote herself to Markus if they are lovers (the side story in the Flowchart),
- Optionally, Markus will be joined by allies: Simon, Josh, North (if she is not a lover),
When soldiers raise their weapons, Markus is given several options to complete this chapter:
- Sing / kiss North (if they are lovers) - depending on public opinion, androids will be shot or a truce will take place, leading to a good ending (peace) of the plot in the background of events if public opinion is favorable to androids,
- Sacrifice yourself/do nothing - Markus dies,
- If you took a detonator from North in the Crossroads chapter, you will be able to use it now. If you give up, you will return to the action selection option, if you activate it, you will lead to a "bad" ending. At this point, androids will get rid of people in Detroit.
Aggressive revolution
The beginning of the chapter, when war against people begins, it's the longest option available and results in the greatest number of choices. When an attack starts, events will be marked on the Flowchart:
- Josh leaves the cover and you can try to save him,
- Simon is shot and you can try to save him,
- You can throw a grenade,
- You can inspire the fighting androids, but they will be hidden or attacked and shot;
- If Markus was injured at the beginning of the chapter as well as in the previous stages of the game, Markus can die - only Simon or North (if she is a lover) can save him by sacrificing themselves.
In the following part, which depends mainly on QTE and actions taken in the course of actions taken after the beginning of the attack, the attack may succeed or fail. If the attack was successful:
- If Connor remained a machine - depending on QTE, the fight could be won by Markus, resulting in a successful revolution, or if Connor won, the revolution would fail and Markus would die.
- If Connor has become a defect - depending on QTE, if you win the battle as Markus, the revolution will succeed, if you fail, the revolution will collapse and Markus will die.
However, if the attack is unsuccessful at the beginning or you failed the first QTE after the start of the offensive:
- If you have a low relationship with North (below the "friendly"), you will go alone to the shop looking for the shelter. If Connor remains a machine, he can do nothing (both die), save Markus, and shoot Markus. In both latter cases, if Markus has a detonator from North (chapter Crossroads), the charge will be activated. The people of Detroit will then die and the androids will win. However, if Connor has become a defect (or hasn't survived to this stage), soldiers will come: the options to surrender, suicide are clear, and the additional option of bomb detonation is available if Markus has it.
- If you have a high relationship with North, you both take refuge in the store. Then the only event that can happen is the arrival of soldiers. Each of the options, apart from detonating the bomb, results in the death of both heroes and failure.
Under North's command
If Markus died in one of the previous chapters, his role is taken by North and always leads to fighting between people and androids. If the rebellion has any chance, you will be partly involved in the game by diving as a North with the flag and fighting the soldiers (where you can die, but only if Connor has become a defect / ended up his story) to finally meet Connor - the machine which will decide its fate.
