Battle for Detroit - Kara | Detroit Become Human Walkthrough Detroit Become Human guide, walkthrough
Last update: 04 April 2023
How the story of Kara begins in Battle for Detroit depends on how it unfolds in Crossroads: whether she manages to escape (although if you fail at the beginning of this chapter, Kara may still be caught and take the second story), whether she is captured by the soldiers. Additional factors influencing the development of events are:
Kara is captured
The beginning of the stage looks the same and you don't make any important decisions here. Just follow the instructions of the soldiers (Kara will be hit when you delay - it will get registered in the Flowchart). In any case of sudden death of Kara, Alice will be "disposed of" or released by Markus if his storyline succeeds.
- When one of the androids is shot, you can volunteer to "clean it up" - this is an opportunity for you to escape, but it leads to a bad ending in which Alice dies.
Once you have reached the fenced sector, you can do some side actions:
- Observe android is shot,
- Be noticed by the drone (note - if you move, Kara will be shot by the drone),
- Talk to Ralph (from the chapter Fugitives, if you stayed in an abandoned house),
- Talk to the android released from the basement in Zlatko's house,
- Talk to the android released in the previous scene if you volunteered to get rid of the body of the shot android,
- Talk to Jerry,
- Talk to another Jerry in the sector - leads to the continuation of the story,
- Talk to Luther if he is there - it leads to the continuation of the story.
The next scene is an attempt to find the way to Alice.
- If Alice's stress ratio reaches 100%, she panics and starts running to Kara - if you don't intervene on time, Kara and Alice will die; otherwise only Kara will die.
- Talk to android behind Kara,
- Talk to android in front of Kara,
- Talk to Luther,
- Talk to a scared android (survivor of Zlatko's basement),
- Talk to Ralph,
- Talk to Alice - at some point, the girl will speak to Kara,
- Observe the guards,
- Watch Jerry's death if you ask him to distract (his and not the frightened android if it is nearby),
- During the event, the queue moves on all the time, and Kara is instructed - if she decides to not obey the orders, she will be shot at the second warning - if she has already been shot by the drone, she will die.
Next, you will try to get out of the closed area.
- If you do not obey the guard's orders, you will be shot / injured and killed,
- If Luther is with Kara and you don't manage to make a decision to save him, he will die in a recycling machine,
- If you are too slow, everyone will die in the recycling machine,
- Observe the barbed wire,
- Talk to one of the people: Ralph, Luther, Jerry or frightened android so that one of them would make a diversion to escape.
During the last escape scene:
- If you fail in QTE, you will die,
- If you reach the fence (with or without Luther) and Kara has been shot heavily before, the escape will fail and you will die,
- When you meet a soldier, fight against him. Optionally: If you don't succeed and Ralph or Luther are nearby, they can help you.
If you managed to get out of the restricted zone, the story will continue in the description below. The next step is to skip the recycling center if Kara isn't captured in the Crossroads chapter.
Kara escaped from Jericho / fleeing the border
You will start to run away, crossing between the soldiers. If you were not caught in the Crossroads chapter and you didn't play a scene in the recycling center - if the soldiers find you, you'll get there anyway. If you've helped Luther hide in the Crossroads chapter, you'll find him with Jerry now.
You will now head towards the bus station. You can go to a checkpoint or take a longer route - nothing wrong is going to happen if you get to the terminal on time. If you stop for control, also nothing wrong can happen:
- If Luther isn't with Kara, she will be given the option to shoot the guards (but doesn't have to),
- If Luther is with Kara, he will be able to shoot the guards with the lifted weapon, but he doesn't have to do it.
You can do a lot of work at the bus station:
- Watch TV,
- Check the bus departures board,
- Read the newspaper,
- Meet Todd (if he didn't die in the Stormy Night chapter), if you fail to agree with him, you can die (optionally Luther can then make a diversion).
- Go to check-in - if Luther doesn't distract the guards, you will be killed.
- Talk to Alice and the woman. The couple will drop the tickets - if you pick them up and don't return them, you will be able to get on the bus.
- Find Adam (Rose's son from the Midnight Train chapter) - this leads to a boat escape.
Escaping by bus
This option becomes available if you have stolen the tickets dropped by the couple at the station. Only this option guarantees the best end (if Luther is in a group), where all three have a chance to survive. To continue, go to check-in; this will also happen after talking to Rose and Adam when you meet them. You can sideways:
- View the news,
- Examine the desk,
- Examine the information board,
- Observe the android being killed,
- Talk to Luther,
- Talk to Jerry.
At this point, at the check-in, you will decide on the final end of Kara's story.
- Sacrifice Luther / Kara / Jerry - in each case the chosen person will be gone. In this case, the best option would be to sacrifice Jerry...
- You don't have to sacrifice anybody - this option will only work if Markus has chosen a peaceful demonstration. The end will cover all of three characters, unless Luther died earlier. This is the best way to end the story of Kara.
Escaping by boat
If you decide to escape by boat, locate Adam at the bus station. Note: With the option of escaping through the river, Luther always dies, so it's not possible to achieve the best possible ending in this way. You will get into the Rose's car, which will take you to the river. There, you can additionally:
- Talk to Adam,
- Observe the other side of the river,
- Check the water temperature.
To continue, talk to Rose. During the crossing you will always encounter a patrol boat. If you give up, you will die. Additionally, if you choose to hide or speed up - Alice will be injured, if you decide to protect Alice - Kara will be injured. So choose to dive or hide behind Luther.
When the boat starts to leak (always), you can:
- Talk to Alice,
- Leave Luther,
- Get rid of supplies,
- Row.
This is the point where the decisions made earlier accumulate, which will indicate the end of the story of Kara:
- If you have not relieved the boat (Luther, supplies), you will all die when the boat sinks,
- If Kara is injured on a boat (protecting Alice), everyone will die,
- If Alice was wounded on a boat, only Kara will survive (unless she chooses not to save her life),
- Only if you have dived / hid behind Luther and relieved the boat by disposing the supplies - Luther, Kara and Alice will swim to the shore safely.
