Freedom March | Marcus | Detroit Become Human Walkthrough Detroit Become Human guide, walkthrough

Last update: 02 July 2019

Freedom March is Markus' final standalone chapter and the first one where he can die. Your goal is to lead the march to the end. The whole chapter always looks the same, except the ending. The only thing you can do during the march is to capture more androids and turn them to your side.

Prologue - enjoy some time alone

A short prologue during which Markus is inside building ruins, alone. You can:

  1. Read an article in the newspaper,
  2. Look in the mirror,
  3. Play on the piano,
  4. Walk on the beam.
In this chapter you can start a romantic relationship between Markus and North (requires at least friendly relations). - Freedom March | Marcus | Detroit Become Human Walkthrough - Marcus Walkthrough - Detroit Become Human Guide
In this chapter you can start a romantic relationship between Markus and North (requires at least "friendly" relations).

North will arrive soon. Choose the right options to make the heroes get closer (however, the game doesn't put much into the development of the romance between Markus and North). "Share memories" is the best option to choose here - it is available only to those who have at least friendly relations with North. Discard the option to ask about North's past if you know that your relations with her are low.

Also: Simon can now join the team, provided that he survived, received your help in getting on the rooftop and wasn't found by Connor during Public Enemy chapter (this is marked on the Flowchart).

The march

You start in the mall. Before you go out, you can convince a few androids here to join your side. The rest of the chapter looks similar - move the camera around and search for androids you can capture by pressing the buttons displayed on the screen. During the march you can also:

  1. Hack the giant screen on one of the walls,
  2. Start singing during the march,
  3. Raise hands or ignore the police officer - this has no impact on the march.

The square and the police intervention

The final choices are very important - mainly because Markus can die which has a huge impact on the last few chapters and the endings. - Freedom March | Marcus | Detroit Become Human Walkthrough - Marcus Walkthrough - Detroit Become Human Guide
The final choices are very important - mainly because Markus can die which has a huge impact on the last few chapters and the endings.

The march ends when you reach the square and get stopped by the police. This scene happens every time, regardless of your public opinion or how the march went. You can choose from three options - they will determine the end of this chapter and Markus' future.

Choose Attack to go into offensive. Stand ground / Disperse options share the same choices available in the next stage:

  1. Run - Markus won't die if he runs away. A huge loss in respect from Jericho and a small lose in relations with North and Josh.
  2. Sacrifice - in default, Markus dies which marks the ending of his storyline (North takes his role as the leader of the rebel). However, John (the android janitor from the Spare Parts chapter) or Simon (if he survived on the rooftop during The Stratford Tower and he wasn't found by Connor or he returned with the rest (this option also requires high reputation with Simon)) can sacrifice themselves for Markus.

Charge - you move to the same path in the Flowchart as the Attack option available at the beginning of this scene. This path has numerous additional opportunities for events. Win the fight (QTE) and you will end the chapter with negative public opinion. Failing at the QTE sequence gives you much more options:

  1. The suicide option ends Markus' storyline.
  2. Doing nothing also means death - this is similar to picking up Sacrifice option without being accompanied by Simon / John. Notice that sacrifices of both of the androids are marked on the Flowchart.

Endings

The Freedom March chapter has multiple endings but only some of them give positive results.

  1. Marcus has escaped - you lose Jericho, North's and Josh's respect.
  2. Marcus stood his ground and died - you can reach this ending by choosing Stand ground option twice. Then, you have to select Sacrifice. Markus dies which means that his storyline ends here. This ending increases reputation in Jericho and the public opinion.
  3. Marcus has committed suicide - you can end your life if you have attacked the police officers and failed. Markus dies which means that his storyline ends here.
  4. Simon has sacrificed himself for Markus - this ending is possible if you choose to attack and fail the QTE sequence or when you stand your ground and then select Sacrifice option. Simon must be alive: during The Stratford Tower chapter he must either escape or be moved to the rooftop and then set free; also, Connor can't find him during the Public Enemy chapter.
  5. John has sacrificed himself form Markus - this ending is possible if you choose to attack and fail the QTE sequence or when you stand your ground and then select Sacrifice option. John must be part of the team (he can join you during the Spare Parts chapter).
  6. Markus has been shot by the police - choose the same options as above: attack the police and fail the QTE sequence. However, you can't have anyone who would sacrifice their life (John or Simon) for Markus.
  7. Markus has defeated the police officers - this ending requires you to choose the attack option and to win the QTE sequence. You receive Jericho's favor but you lose public opinion.
