Last update: 20 April 2023
The Lost and Found quest line involves tracing multiple clues to find a missing person or an important item. On this page of our Dead Island 2 guide you'll learn how to initiate and successfully complete Missing: Jamal quest.
The quest's starting location
To initiate the quest, travel to Serling Hotel in Ocean Avenue and look up the missing persons' board.
Further stages of the quest
The first clue received after initiating the task states that Jamal's last known location was Hotel Halperin, more exactly the security booth in the parking lot. Start your search there (a red marker will appear on the map).
There are a lot of zombies next to the first security booth, so deal with them first. Once the area is clear, approach the booth.
Unfortunately, you cannot access it, as a magnetic key is required. Instead of looking for it, destroy all the power nodes that power the door lock. One is on the right side of the building, while the other is in the center by the door. Circle the building and shoot (or throw a melee weapon at) the breaker panel Once all nodes are destroyed, the door will unlock automatically. Inside you'll find a note - Employee Vehicle Register.
From it you'll learn that Jamal has driven away in a red pick-up. Time to visit the other part of the parking lot - the western side. There you'll find a second security booth. The approach is the same as with the first one. Once the door is open, enter the booth and collect a note - Our Fellow Security Guard.
With three clues obtained, a new marker will appear on Hotel Halpern map. Head to this location.
Once there, you will see a large number of zombies around the water. Jamal is also among them.
He will be titled with his name and a question mark, and he is wearing a police armor. Kill him, collect Jamal's Crate Key and open the related chest.
Rewards
Successful completion of the quest yields 1.500 XP, a pistol, and some ammo for it. Moreover, you'll collect the final part of Bye, Ethan Journal.
