In the main campaign of Dead Island 2, you can battle strong monsters and search for secrets and finds. Our guide explains whether there is a no return point before clashing with the final boss, and whether you can continue exploring the game world in the endgame, i.e. after completing the main story thread.
The site contains major spoilers for the end of the game. They are required to explain the point of no return and the endgame phase. However, we have not posted any information about who the final boss is or how the main storyline ends.
Point of no return
The last map in the game is Hollywood Boulevard - here you first have to get out of the metro station and then walk through the streets where the film awards ceremony was held.
You are to arrive at the Re-Aging Clinic , and as part of the main storyline, you need to find a keycard and unlock access to the back room. The clinic hideout is the last safe location in the game. You should prepare for the final battle there. You can use:
- workbench - repair and upgrade the weapons;
- Storage Locker;
- fast travel maps - thanks to them you can, for example, return to one of the merchants.
After unlocking the secret passageway, you enter the laboratory and shortly thereafter the clash with the final boss begins. It is then no longer possible to escape from the arena and return to the hideout.
Endgame phase
It is not necessary to pass all optional activities before finishing the game. After you defeat the final boss and watch the end of the game you return to free exploration of the world. You can revisit all 10 Los Angeles districts to:
- find overlooked secrets and finds;
- pass undiscovered or unfinished secondary quests;
- pass uncompleted challenges;
- fulfill the requirements of unconquered trophies.
