During your exploration of Monarch Studios in Dead Island 2 you'll face a Slobber boss - Alesis Hernandez. On this page of the guide we explain where to find the boss, how to avoid Alesis' ranged attacks, how to use the environment during the battle and how to deplete the boss' health.
Boss arena
Alesis Hernandez is the second major boss fight in the game, being mandatory to progress. You'll face him in the Monarch Studios district.
You must reach the eastern part of the map during the Michael Anders and the Holy Grail main quest. There's a large mechanical spider there, as well as a prop gas station. The boss will appear when you try to enter Emma's trailer. Alesis is a Slobber - a new elite monster type.
Slobber battle
The slobber's primary attack is spitting corrosive bile that inflicts caustic damage. Stay mobile at all times, as otherwise you're a very easy target. You can also hide behind large obstacles.
He can possibly stop spitting bile if you get close. He replaces this move with limb sweeps - dodge or block them (you can also parry them to counterattack). If he catches you, break free by completing a QTE.
We recommend using sharp weapons, as well as weapons that inflict bleeding and deal shock damage.
There are power boxes around the arena, which you can use to activate mechanisms such as flames or poisonous fumes. Some, however, can only be used once.
Regular zombies will soon join the battle as well. Only attack them if they get in your way, as defeating Alesis stops more zombies from spawning.
