One of the bosses encountered in The Pier district of Dead Island 2 is Butcho the Clown. On this page of the guide, we show when to expect the clown to attack, how to react to the boss's attacks, what weaknesses does Butcho have, and how to stop the healing attempts of the boss.
The arena for Butcho encounter
Butcho the Clown is the fifth main boss scheduled for eradication in the main storyline. The battle with him takes place in The Pier district of Santa Monica.
You need to pick up Boardwalking Dead story quest and reach the final part of the boardwalk (the one behind the Ferris wheel). There, your task is to find a laptop, and when attempting to pick it up, Butcho the Clown will appear.
Description of the battle
The boss mainly uses melee attacks and you should use blocks and dodges to mitigate them. In case of blocking, there is a chance of perfect parrying Butcho's attack and stunning him, allowing you to return with a counter.
If a block or a dodge is unsuccessful, Butcho can knock the hero down. You need to complete a QTE sequence then to avoid receiving serious damage.
A unique feature of this battle and and other Butcher encounters is that the wounded monster will try to regenerate his health by devouring corpses. You must prevent him from doing it - pursue and attack Butcho with a melee or ranged attack to interrupt the action. If Butcho the Clown manages to replenish his health, the whole battle may prolong.
Good ways of hurting the boss:
- Firearms - we recommend using a submachine gun or an assault rifle capable of firing barrages of bullets. Aim and fire at Butcho when he doesn't shield himself from bullets.
- Fury mode - you can use this skill to deprive the boss of health points much faster.
Fortunately, there aren't any zombies around to help him, and the battle arena is sparse.
