On this page, we list keys, access codes and access cards that you can get as collectibles or receive from NPCs. These will allow you to access locked areas and help obtain 100% completion of the maps.

Swanson Mansion Keycard

District: Bel-Air

Location: You need the key to enter the Swanson mansion, where you will begin the exploration of Bel-Air. You need to reach the Panic Room in the mansion. Destroy the box on the wall, defeat Colt Swanson and search the corpse of the zombie.

Code for Colt's Back Gate

District: Bel-Air

Location: There is a locked gate behind the Swanson mansion and you need to open it to advance in the game. Search the mansion and obtain the code for the gate.

Emma's House Keys

District: Bel-Air

Location: You will receive the keys during the main storyline. After reaching Emma's mansion in Bel-Air, you must first meet her and then talk to Ryan at the back exit of the mansion.

Curtis' Garage Key

District: Bel-Air

Location: You have to reach the Curtis mansion in Bel-Air - it is southwest of Emma's residence. Check out the large garage next to the mansion. The key is next to the workbench.

Curtis' House Keys

District: Bel-Air

Location: You have to help Curtis after reaching the Curtis mansion in Bel-Air and complete The Death of the Party side quest. You will receive the keys after winning the battle inside the mansion.

Goat Pen Keycard

District: Bel-Air

Location: This is an important access card to all main doors and back gates of the Goat Pen estate in Bel-Air. You must first enter the building through a hole in the roof and then explore the western room on the upper floor. The access card lies in front of the monitors.

Cable Guy's Van Key

District: Bel-Air

Location: The earliest you can get the key is during your next visit to Bel-Air after returning from the Halperin Hotel. Explore Alpine Dr north of the Goat Pen property. The Cable Guy should appear - defeat this unique zombie and search his corpse. There is a van parked on the same street - use the key to open it.

Coach's Car Keys

District: Bel-Air

Location: The earliest you can get the key is during your next visit to Bel-Air after returning from the Halperin Hotel. Investigate the tennis court at the Swanson property - it is in the northwestern part of the district. You should encounter the Coach Ace here - defeat the zombie and take the key. The Coach's car is parked at 782 Access Rd.

Hills Checkpoint Pass

District: Bel-Air

Location: You can get the key only after heading to the Beverly Hills district in the main story. You have to reach the passage to Beverly Hills in the western part of Bel-Air. There is a Checkpoint Guard in the area - defeat the Crusher and get his access card.

Obi's Key

District: Bel-Air

Location: You must first start the Lost and Found quest in Beverly Hills called The Clean and Snatch. Return to Bel-Air. The zombie called Obi should spawn next to the swimming pool at the Goat Pen mansion and drop the key.

Brock's Safe Key

District: Bel-Air

Location: The key is obtainable during one of your visits to the Goat Pen estate. Goat Pen Brock should appear in this location - defeat the Crusher and take the key dropped by him. Use it to open the safe in the bedroom upstairs.

Cindy's Safe Key

District: Bel-Air

Location: During one of your visits to Bel-Air, you can start the Creature Comforts side quest at Emma's mansion. Head to Swanson mansion. During its exploration, you have to defeat Cindy, a Screamer. Take the key dropped by the monster and use it to open the safe on the upper floor.

Goat Pen Master Keys

District: Bel-Air

Location: These keys are important and you need them to open the winery and the office at the Goat Pen estate. You have to start the Creature Comforts side quest in Bel-Air. Upon arrival at the mansion, Goat Pen Jamie will appear at the bowling alley. Defeat this zombie and get the keys.

Safe-Deposit Key #09

District: Halperin Hotel

Location: You will find the key in the Halperin Hotel's lobby. It is lying on one of the tables.

You can use this and subsequent keys from this category to open the lockboxes of the hotel's customers. They are located behind the reception desk in the lobby.

Safe-Deposit Key #49

District: Halperin Hotel

Location: You can get the key when you reach the third floor of the Halperin Hotel. The main character has to go through the ventilation shafts - the entrance to them is shown in the image above. You should find the key before you encounter zombies in the shafts.

The Major's Master Keys

District: Halperin Hotel

Location: The keys are in room 307 of the Halperin Hotel. You visit this place during the main story. You will find them on the floor next to the massacred corpse.

Safe-Deposit Key #53

District: Halperin Hotel

Location: The key is in the bathroom of room 307 in the Halperin Hotel. It lies next to the bathtub.

Military Supplies Key

District: Halperin Hotel

Location: The key can be obtained only after facing the boss Becca at the Halperin Hotel, that is, after defeating the first Crusher. Reach Lacuna Av Street in the northern part of the district. There you'll encounter the Drill Sergeant, who is also a Crusher. Defeat this elite zombie and search its corpse.

Security Guard's Safe Key

District: Halperin Hotel

Location: Head to the underground parking lot next to the Halperin Hotel. One of the monsters here is the Security Guard. Take the key from him - you can use it to open the safe in one of the small outposts.

Military Courier's Key

District: Halperin Hotel

Location: Explore the area around the main entrance to the Halperin Hotel. Military Courier may spawn in the area. Defeat this Runner and loot the key. Use it to open suitcase in the hotel lobby.

Poolside Container Key

District: Halperin Hotel

Location: Reach a large hole in the ground in the eastern part of the district. A Sunbather may appear there. The Slobber drops a key to open the container by the pool in the western part of the map (the area with the poisonous green substance).

Jamal's Crate Key

District: Halperin Hotel

Location: You have to unlock the quest Missing: Jamal and finish the initial part of the investigation. Eventually, you will reach a large hole in the ground in the eastern part of the district. Jamal (an armored zombie) should spawn there. You can use his key in the same location to open a small ammunition box and a large box on the back of a pick-up truck.

Michael's House Keys

District: Beverly Hills

Location: You must find the key during the main storyline while exploring Michael's house in Beverly Hills. Examine the note attached to the board and the trash bin containing the keys.

Garage Safe Key

District: Beverly Hills

Location: The northeastern part of the district. Nosy Neighbor should appear on the paved road north of Farouk's property. Defeat this zombie and take the key - use it to open the safe in the mansion west of Michael's house.

Farouk's House Key

District: Beverly Hills

Location: The key is inside Farouk's mansion, the one in the northeastern part of the district. You can get inside by bringing a battery to the generator at the back gate (above image). You will find the key on the mansion's ground floor.

Michael's Safe Key

District: Beverly Hills

Location: The key is carried by Michael's Protege - you can encounter this zombie on the asphalt road west of Michael's house.

Dead Zone Keycard

District: Beverly Hills

Location: You need the keycard to enter the dead zone in the southern part of the district, so you can reach the Monarch Studios. Col. Evans should spawn near the outpost - defeat him to get the keycard.

Gate Control Room Key

District: Beverly Hills

Location: You have to get the key after returning from Monarch Studios to Beverly Hills during the Justifiable Zombicide main quest. You have to explore the hydroelectric plant in northwest Beverly Hills and defeat Phil in one of the lower tunnels. The Crusher will drop the key.

Rikky's Kitchen Key

District: Beverly Hills

Location: You must visit Rikky's house and start The Ballad of Rikky Rex side quest. While investigating the eastern mansion, defeat Misha the Singer - the Screamer will drop the key that will open the mansion.

Nikki's Prize Key

District: Beverly Hills

Location: Explore the northwestern part of the district, and the Target Practice zombie will spawn on the hiking trail. After defeating him, you can use the acquired key in Nikki Butte's mansion, which you broke into during the main story (the first fight with a Screamer).

Biohazard Container Key

District: Beverly Hills

Location: Reach the central part of the district. A paved road ends between the two properties. There are a few vehicles parked here. An SSG Hernandez zombie will spawn in this area. The key obtained from him allows you to open the container in the neighboring large estate (the one up for sale).

Bouncer's Key

District: Beverly Hills

Location: Reach the area with a pool in the southeastern mansion. The Party Bouncer can spawn there. Defeat the Crusher to obtain the key.

Brentwood Waste Key

District: Beverly Hills

Location: Reach the hydroelectric power plant in the western part of the district. Brentwood Staff who carries the key may spawn there. You can use it on the lower level of the power plant to open the locked trash bin.

Stage 7 Key

District: Monarch Studios

Location: You will find the key in the Alesis Hernandez trailer (look for the text on the trailer's door), located in the west parking lot of Monarch Studios next to the Stage 7 building.

Security's Cooler Key

District: Monarch Studios

Location: You have to get to Jimmy Montana's trailer, which is next to the Stage 7 building (you have to go through it first). Inside the trailer there is a Monarch Security zombie - kill him and take the key. You can use the key in the outpost at the west entrance to Monarch Studios.

Kelli Jo's Suitcase Key

District: Monarch Studios

Location: During one of your visits to the district, you will encounter Kelly Jo Longeteig - this Screamer will be standing south of Sound Stage 3. The acquired key opens a suitcase from the trailer next to Stage 5.

Seismometer Key Alpha

District: Brentwood Sewers

Location: This is 1 out of 4 keys that can be obtained only after unlocking the It's Not Your Fault side quest.

You must explore the eastern end of the sewers. The key is in one of the initial tunnels, next to the red box.

Seismometer Key Beta

District: Brentwood Sewers

Location: This is 1 out of 4 keys that can be obtained only after unlocking the It's Not Your Fault side quest.

You need to explore the eastern part of the sewers. The key is next to the corpse of a worker wearing a yellow vest.

Seismometer Key Gamma

District: Brentwood Sewers

Location: This is 1 out of 4 keys that can be obtained only after unlocking the It's Not Your Fault side quest.

You need to examine the central part of the sewers - the Filtration Access and Servicing area. Search the lower level and examine the Meat Slurry. The key will be at one of the interactive spots.

Seismometer Key Delta

District: Brentwood Sewers

Location: This is 1 out of 4 keys that can be obtained only after unlocking the It's Not Your Fault side quest.

You need to examine the Main Septic Tank in the western part of the sewers. Reach its end and defeat the Seismologist. The zombie will drop the key.

Maintenance Toolbox Key

District: Brentwood Sewers

Location: You have to explore the Main Septic Tank in the western part of the sewers. A Maintenance Worker is staying there - he will drop the key upon death.

Lenny's Parking Lot Key

District: Venice Beach

Location: The key will be dropped by boss Dillon - you have to defeat him during the main story in the northern Lenny's Parking Lot. Thanks to it you will be able to leave the parking lot after the fight.

Shower Maintenance Key

District: Venice Beach

Location: You will find the key in one of the cabins in the area with showers located in the southern part of Venice Beach. Use it to open the gate in the same location.

Burger 66 Locker Key

District: Venice Beach

Location: You must explore the southern part of Venice Beach and locate a Slobber called Burger '66 Server. Defeat the creature and pick up the key that it dropped.

Jail Cell 02 Key

District: Venice Beach

Location: This key is located inside the police station on the beach. You have to get into the office room - the key is on the desk. You can immediately use it to open one of the cells in the adjacent corridor.

Police Dept. Keycard

District: Venice Beach

Location: The keycard is inside the police station on the beach. You will find it on a small shelf in front of the bulletin board, and you can use it to open doors to restricted areas of the police station.

Secure Storage Room Key.

District: Venice Beach

Location: The key is inside the police station on the beach. It lies on the table at the entrance to the storage room. With it, you can unlock access to, e.g. the armory.

Lifeguard Hut Safe Key

District: Venice Beach

Location: You must explore the southern end of the beach in the Venice Beach district. Brody the Lifeguard will spawn there - defeat the zombie and get the key from him. A safe that can be opened with the key is in a nearby lifeguard booth.

Gang Green Safe Key

District: Venice Beach

Location: Explore the beach east of the fort. A zombie called Roach, who has the key, is staying here. Once you get the key, head to the gang's hideout adjacent to the northern parking lot (the one guarded by boss Dillon).

Skate Things Safe Key

District: Venice Beach

Location: Explore the beach east of the fort. A zombie called Ollie, who has the key, is staying here.

Officer's Lockbox Key

District: Venice Beach

Location: Explore the bike lane on the beach south of the fort. You will encounter Officer McKenzie - he has the key. It is located inside the nearby police station on the beach.

Army Lockdown Code

District: Venice Beach

Location: The code must be obtained during the main storyline by visiting the beach fort. You must complete all steps leading to finding Lt. Hicks. This will allow you to complete the code for the gate.

Lifeguard Tower Keycard

District: Venice Beach

Location: Reach the Lifeguard Tower in the northwestern part of the map. You have to reach its top. You will meet W.O. Rodriguez and she will provide you with an access card.

Jail Cell 01 Key

District: Venice Beach

Location: You must start the quest Missing: Laura and investigate the police station on the beach first. Reach the Venice Hot Dog northeast of the police station. Police Chief Malloy is there and he has the key to the cell.

Comms Area Keycard

District: Venice Beach

Location: Start the Diaries of the Dead side quest and reach the military convoy. One of the zombies here is a Signal Officer. The access card taken from him will allow you to open the southern gates at the beach fort.

Silver & Steel Keycard

District: Ocean Avenue

Location: You must reach the hideout in the Serling Hotel. You will get the access card from Denise during the Plumbing the Depths main quest. You can use it in the store in the mall (lower level).

Janitor's Safe Code

District: Ocean Avenue

Location: You need to obtain the access code while searching for Bob during the Plumbing the Depths main quest at the Serling Hotel. Reach the indicated area and find a piece of paper with the code attached to the pipes beneath the ceiling (above image).

Lotusville Janitor's Key

District: Ocean Avenue

Location: The janitor's key is in the Serling Hotel and must be taken out of the safe during the Plumbing the Depths main quest. You can use it to open several different doors, including those leading from the hotel to the underground parking lot.

CDC HQ Security Pass

District: Ocean Avenue

Location: The access card is received from Dr. Reed at the safe house in the Serling Hotel. This will happen after completing the Plumbing the Depths main quest.

OSK Server Room Keycard.

District: Ocean Avenue

Location: The access card is obtained in The Search for Truth main quest. It is carried by the zombie called Henry - you will find him in the alley at the back of the OSK store visited in the main story.

LA 24 Security Pass

District: Ocean Avenue

Location: The access card is inside the LA 24 News building, which you explore during the Scooped! side quest. You will find it on the guard's corpse.

Server Room Safe Key

District: Ocean Avenue

Location: The key is also located in the LA 24 News building and you can obtain during the Scooped! quest. Locate the corpse in the northeastern part of the building, on the upper floor.

Electrician's Keys

District: Ocean Avenue

Location: Visit the northwestern part of the district. There is a large hole in the ground where you will encounter an Electrician. Defeat the elite zombie to obtain the key.

Dr. Dorian's Code

District: The Pier

Location: You get the code automatically in the Blood Drive main quest, during which you have to explore the dome at the CDC base in the southeastern part of the map. You will receive it after examining all parts of Dr. Dorian's body.

CDC Master Keycard

District: The Pier

Location: The access card is carried by the zombie called Bundy. The Slobber is at the eastern end of the boardwalk and defeating him is part of the Boardwalking Dead main quest. The access card opens several gates on the boardwalk - the front gate and the side gate.

Preston's Safe Key

District: The Pier

Location: A zombie called Preston can be found in the central part of the boardwalk. Defeat the monster and the acquired key can be used to open a safe found in the same area.

Ferris Wheel Booth Keys

District: The Pier

Location: You can obtain the keys when trying to stop the roller coaster next to the Ferris wheel in the western part of the boardwalk- a mandatory part of the Boardwalking Dead main quest. This will trigger a fight with zombies - Ride Operator will be among them. The monster will drop the keys that you can use to open the room with the ride control mechanism.

Bucket O'Fish Door Key

District: The Pier

Location: You must find a bottle on the beach. Taking it will start the Message in a Bottle side quest. The newly obtained key can be used to open the Bucket O'Fish restaurant in the central part of the boardwalk.

Randy's Locker Key

District: The Pier

Location: Reach the back of the Lifeguard HQ in the eastern part of the map. Randy may appear there - defeat the Crusher, take his key and use it immediately on the nearby cabinet.

Mystery Goodie-Box Code

District: The Pier

Location: You must unlock and complete the Dez and the Mother of Satan side quest. You will receive the access code from Dez at the very end of the quest.

Maintenance Area Key

District: Metro

Location: A Metro Engineer should spawn in the central part of the subway tunnels (west of the central workbench and fast travel point) - this mutant carries the key.

Putrid Subway Car Keys

District: Metro

Location: At the western end of the subway tunnels, you can encounter a Slobber who is carrying the keys. Use them to open a nearby subway car and the container inside it.

DBD Chest Key

District: Metro

Location: The key can be obtained during The Art of War main quest. During it, you can encounter Little Ed in the northwestern part of the tunnels - defeat the elite zombie and take the key from him.
