Dead Island 2 allows the player to use firearms but it comes with a certain limitation - the need for ammo supply. Our guide contains tips on how to easily obtain ammunition by visiting the police station. In addition, you will learn how to craft ammo and buy it from traders. All these techniques will allow you to use guns more often and kill monsters more easily.
Venice Beach police station
You'll be able to find guns starting from the moment you enter the Brentwood Sewers. The ammo, however, will become easily available only once you reach Venice Beach.
Visit the Blue Crab. Trent, who's staying at the safe house, will give you the Cold Pork side quest, which concerns investigating the police station on the beach in Venice Beach.
At the station you'll have to destroy a maglock and obtain several keys, which are in the same location and are quite easy to find. Ultimately, you must unlock the armory at the police station. To do it, you need a Secure Storage Room Key, which you can find on the counter nearby.
The storage room should contain a shotgun and plenty of ammunition. The main advantage of this location is that the supply in the armory renews every time Venice Beach loads. This way, you can "cheat" by frequently using fast travel (in Venice Beach you can teleport between the hideout and the guard tower). Return to the police station after each fast travel to pick up free supplies.
Crafting and buying ammunition
An easy way to restock your ammo is also to buy it from merchants - they will start carrying it as soon as you unlock Venice Beach. The ammo in the game is cheap, so you shouldn't be short on cash later in the game.
A less cost-effective way is to craft your own ammunition. You must have the right blueprints (e.g. purchased from traders or found in the game world) and additionally use crafting materials. In our opinion, it's better to use the materials for weapon upgrades than consumable items.
