Mission 10: CORDIS DIE | Missions: Challenges CoD: BO II Guide
Last update: 11 May 2016
100% Impact Ratio with SAM Engagement on Highway
It is a part of the mission, so you can't miss it. Similarly as in the fifth mission, you need to point the target with the cursor and after the rocket has been launched it will hit it by itself. This time, you can simultaneously mark six targets. However, to pass the challenge none of your rockets can miss. It can happen in two cases - when you fire at the drone flying over you and the rocket does not have time to fly to its target, and when it accidentally, when flying towards the target, crashes on the vehicle roof, where the SAM turret is mounted. You can fire six rockets at the same time, and the drones are flying in groups of six.
First of all, DO NOT SHOOT at the beginning. Instead make a 180-degree turn to the left. It's very easy to miss here, that is, the rocket won't get to the drone that is flying directly over you. Therefore it is better to turn around, and then all the drones flying over you will be marked automatically (first picture above). When you have selected all six, move the camera slowly to the right and fire the rockets. From the upper right corner of the screen (second picture above) there should come the next group of six drones. Select them and fire six rockets, then slowly start to turn left.
The third group will fly out of there (first picture above). Vigorously rotate the turret to the right. Right next to the back of the roof of the vehicle you're on, you should see the fourth group of drones (second picture above), coming out from the left.
Again, vigorously start to rotate the cannon to the right. The fifth group will fly out from there (first picture above). And turn right for the last time to see the sixth and the last group of drones (second picture above).
If managed to mark them and fired only when the drones were far away from you (which guarantees that you'll hit), the challenge will be passed. The message about passing the challenge will appear only when then cutscene with the plane is over and when you regain control over the character (picture above).
Perform Headshot (x10) Sniper Kills from the upper Highway
When you've passed the challenge above, then after the cutscene run up to two texts and select the one on the left ("CHOOSE SNIPER"). Your task is to perform 10 headshots. It is best to choose those enemies who are standing still and not shooting - such as snipers (first picture above) or heavy machine guns operators (second picture above). During the sequence there will be four snipers (the first right at the beginning and three later, on the upper highway in front of you) and three heavy machine guns operators on trucks (the first is down on the right, the second down on the left, and the third is on the opposite upper highway).
Three targets will remain and you must select these from the soldiers standing at the bottom. It will not be difficult, as many of them are standing motionless behind some covers (picture above) - remember to charge the shot when the head of one of them is completely covered.
It is worth adding that on Recruit level, the allied agents downstairs can be so efficient that they will eliminate your enemies before you manage to score 10 headshots (on the other hand, on Veteran difficulty level it will be quite the opposite). In this case, kill the heavy machine gun operators on trucks as the last ones - their fire will engage the agents long enough for you to easily pass the challenge (picture above).
Direct Quad Drones to Eliminate Enemy Personnel (x8)
When you wake up after the second truck has crashed yours and then you destroy the opposite CLAW, there will be a truck trailer you can enter just on the left. Do it and cut the grate at the end (picture above) to get support from one rocket firing quad-drone. Before you do that, however, destroy the second CLAW. Otherwise, your quad-drone will soon share the same fate.
Start the mark the targets with it (picture above). There are a lot of enemies here, you should especially try to mark groups of enemies, balconies and windows of the building on the left. The problem is that there is only one quad-drone and sooner or later, depending on the difficulty level, it will be destroyed. Of course, the sooner you are able to pass the challenge, the better - and it is possible to pass it with the help of this very quad-drone.
Do not worry, though. When a little later you get to the mall, you will have new quad-drones to use and this time you can use them indefinitely. There are enough enemies in the shopping center (picture above). Therefore, if you haven't passed the challenge yet, fight only with quad-drones until you pass it. Just in case, do the challenge below after you've passed this one - to prevent the agents from "taking away" your enemies.
Rescue Trapped SSA in damaged Vehicle
When you wake up after the second truck has crashed yours and then you destroy the opposite CLAW, clear the street of all enemies and the rest of the CLAWs. Only after the allied police officers have moved in the vicinity of the shopping center, can you safely start doing this challenge. To do this, look at the center's square - on the left there is an entrance leading inside, and on the right an overturned MRAP with a word Access (picture above). Open the locked exit on the roof of the truck to free the two agents and you'll pass this challenge.
Destroy Enemy Drones (x30) using SAM on roof
When you enter the mall up the stairs, immediately look left. You'll notice the double doors and a word Access nearby (first picture above). Open it, go up the stairs to the roof and then move closer to the SAM turret to start using it (second picture above).
From now on, the durability of the SAM turret will depend on the difficulty level, and also - which should be obvious - on your ability to search and mark targets. While the previous groups consisted of six drones, now each new group will be bigger (first picture above). Your task is to survive long enough to destroy the thirty quad-drones. The message about passing the challenge will appear right before the exit to the roof (second picture above), after the turret gets destroyed - and it will happen, sooner or later. Mark the drones, shoot and immediately search for the next ones turning around vigorously. When the group of drones will be bigger than six units, mark and shoot, and then instantly repeat the action.
Protect G20 Cougar at the Intersection
Walk through the mall and go down the stairs to get to the terrace. Then, turn left and go to the mission marker. The G20 vehicle will be in front of you (first picture above). Immediately aim at the roof of the building with the Storm PSR Gun, in the background of which is the front part of the vehicle. There will be two enemies with RPGs (second picture above). Eliminating them will mean passing the challenge.
Destroy Drones (x3) with one Shot
To even be able to pass this challenge, you'll need Skyburst rockets. Unfortunately, a bug in the game makes it impossible for you to always use them (you shoot the rockets by pressing the second grenade throw button). If the message didn't appear during the first playthrough, try to replay the mission on a different difficulty level (e.g., if you played the mission through on Veteran, then replay it on Recruit). If that does not help, try to play the mission through on the same difficulty level again. If the message appears, it means that you can use the rockets (picture above).
Then, the challenge will be easy to pass. From among the group of drones you just need to mark one, somewhere in the middle, especially if you are not far behind them (first picture above). An even easier way is to use the rockets always whenever they're available. If they are not, use the ordinary ones to make sure that you pass the challenge below (namely, destroy the drones before they destroy any of the G20 vehicles) (second picture above).
Protect all G20 Vehicles
The durability of G20 vehicles depends on the difficulty level. Assuming the equal effectiveness in destroying enemy vehicles and helicopters, and the drones later, passing the challenge on Recruit level will be almost automatic - while on Veteran difficulty it can be extremely hard. If you play the mission on Recruit, the challenge should be passed. You will receive the message about passing it once you've ejected and landed on the ground (picture above).
Collect intel (x3)
See the "Intel" section or the description of a mission walkthrough to discover where you can find intel in this mission. Collect it all to pass the challenge.
100% survivability rating
You will easily perform the first part of the mission (firing at drones, sniper support and driving the truck). In the second part, however, you can easily die while working your way through the mall. Even on Recruit level, you can quickly die when many enemies are shooting at you at the same time and when they have the CLAWs. To make matters worse, there are vehicles near the mall. If they explode (and if you're too close) you'll die, and if you come closer, you'll be flooded with grenades. This is the reason you shouldn't move recklessly in the street. Instead, slowly eliminate all enemies with the Storm PSR Gun. It will be easier inside the shopping center, but later you'll need to be careful again - you can get killed by shots coming from many sides, so once more, clear the area and only afterwards move to your destination. There won't be any trouble in the case of the air jet, just don't fly away from the battlefield.
