Fast transportation of heavy materials

If you want to go on a long mining expedition and collect lots of heavy ore, it's a good idea to create a separate server in single player, leave your character by the chest, and log over to the world where you're developing your settlement. As you know, carrying metal ore will prevent your character from crossing the portal, but this problem can be circumvented.

After you have mined a large amount of materials, place them all into your inventory and don't worry about being over-encumbered. Next, switch to the world where your character is standing by the chest.

Once you log in, you will find yourself standing next to the chest while carrying the contents of your inventory from your main world. You can now deposit them into the chest and log back to the previous server.

Once you have unloaded your inventory and your character is no longer over-encumbered, you can return to your settlement on foot or use the portal. Once you reach your destination, log back onto the new server, place the resources back in your inventory and return to your main server to manage them.
