Valheim: Mountain frost - how to survive? Valheim guide, walkthrough
Last update: 26 February 2021
On this page of the Valheim guide, you will learn how to survive the mountain frost.
At some point in the game, you will reach the Mountains, a biome characterized by low temperatures. If you venture there without preparation, you will start to freeze and lose health points. However, you can prevent this from happening. There are three ways to do this.
The first is the most makeshift. If you put a campfire in the Mountains, standing within its range will keep you from freezing. The frost will only affect your stamina regeneration. You can create an entire path made out of campfires.
Another way to survive in the Mountains is to drink frost resistance mead. To prepare it, you need a fermenter and a base potion created with the following ingredients:
- 10 x Honey
- 5 x Thistle
- 2 x Bloodbag
- 1 x Greydwarf eye
Drinking this potion will give you 10 minutes of frost resistance.
The last way to survive in the Mountains is to craft a Wolf fur cape – when worn, it gives resistance to cold temperatures. To make it you need:
- 6 x Wolf pelt
- 4 x Silver
- 1 x Wolf trophy
However, you must remember that you can only get the resources for the cloak in the Mountains and after defeating the third boss – Bonemass.
