The above map shows the Trade Post and Ascension. These are two locations that can be visited during your stay in The Bloom - it is required to complete the Dracogen's Price main quest. Reaching these places is not that easy, since in order to do it, you have to activate the portal near the Maw in Chiurgeon Slump (M18.1). To learn how to do it, read the chapter dedicated to the abovementioned main quest, and the page entitled How to reach the Trade Post and Ascention in The Bloom?

The Trade Post is a small location that, at first, doesn't contain anything interesting. Only after getting back from Ascention will you be able to unlock the exit (by activating the portal to the Chiurgeon Slump again or unlocking an entirely new passage into the Vast Interior).

The entrance to the cavern will only be opened after meeting the crystals and choosing the right dialogue option. - Trade Post / Ascension Map - M20 - Bloom: Trade Post / Ascension - Torment: Tides of Numenera Game Guide
The entrance to the cavern will only be opened after meeting the crystals and choosing the right dialogue option.

Ascension is a map that has to be explored rather linearly, since it consists of narrow passages and bridges that have to be moved "manually" (by activating subsequent crystals). The ultimate goal of the visit to Ascension is unlocking the passage to the Crystalline Cavern (map M22 is described on another page of this chapter) and in order to do that you have to pay a visit to the the Speaker and the Builder on your way there.

Key locations in the Trade Post and Ascension

1. Tongue Cluster. It becomes important on your way back from Ascension (once you obtain the Magmatic Annulet). You must then interact with it in order to open a portal to Chiurgeon Slump's again or to move the Trade Post to its original position and unlock a new passageway to the Vast Interior.

2. Portal connecting the Trade Post and Ascension. On your way back from Ascension you will be stopped near the portal by Doran and other cultists. You can either kill them or get rid of them using Intimidation.

3. The Speaker. You can interact with a huge crystallic structure to have a chance to talk to The Speaker. Exhaust all dialogue options to receive 5XP in total.

5. The Builder. This is a crystalline structure that you can "talk to". Ask The Builder to open the entrance to the Crystalline Cavern (+3XP).

7. Crystals. You can start interacting with them after you've talked to The Speaker. Each such action will unlock a bridge to another part of Ascension. That's how you will be able to get to the entrance to the Crystalline Cavern.

8. Merchant. He doesn't appear until further into the game. This will only happen if during the main quest, Dracogen's Price, you moved the Trading Post and unlocked the passage to the Vast Interior. Additionally, you will also have to wait one day in order for the merchant to reach the place and open his store.

The merchant sells cyphers, artifacts, usable items and armors.
