Unlocking the Machine Village
The Machine Village is unlocked after defeating the Opera Singer in Amusement Park and encountering a friendly machine - this happens in chapter 5.
Note - Not all quests described below are available right away. Some become available later in the game or once you meet specific requirements.
Jean-Paul's Melancholy
Quest giver: Machine with Hat - Jean-Paul (Machine Village)
Jean-Paul is a machine with a big hat. You can meet him and pick up the quest on your first visit to the village in chapter 5.
Note - Try to do this quest after unlocking the fast travel function, because you will have to visit two locations twice.
Quest description: You have to meet with three other machines. You can reach them in any order. Listen to the conversation and pick up the quest item.
1) Machine with Makeup - You'll find this machine in the Machine Village. It stands at the end of one of the paths. You will receive Letter for Jean-Paul.
2) Machine with a Dream - You'll find this machine in the Amusement Park. You will receive Beautiful Glass.
3) Machine in Love - You'll find this machine in Desert Housing. You will receive Machine Fossil.
Once you get all 3 items, you must return to Jean-Paul and hand them over to him. You'll be forced to talk to each of the three machines again.
After you return to the Machine Village and go to where Jean-Paul stood before, you will not find him. Talk to the Ball-like Machine to receive Jean-Paul's Letter and complete the quest.
Rewards for completing the quest:
- Medium Recovery x2
- Beast Hide x5
- EXP Gain Up 3 Chip - a useful chip that, once installed, will help you earn more experience points
- 5,000G
- 500XP
Lost Girl
Quest giver: Big Sister Machine (Machine Village)
The machine that can give you this quest is located at the bottom of the Machine Village, i.e. the one where the camera goes back to TPP. You can pick up the quest on your first visit to the village in chapter 5. Offer your help in the search.
Quest description: As the title suggests, you have to go in search of the lost machine-sister. You will need to explore the red circle on the Desert Zone, specifically its largest area.
After finding the Little Sister Machine, talk to her. You will begin escorting the machine to the outskirts of the main part of the desert. Do not move too far away from the machine because she can stop.
Along the way, you will be attacked by groups of opponents. Each group is bigger than the previous one, and the last group has a Goliath Biped. It is good to play aggressively, i.e. use melee weapons, and not be limited only to ranged attacks.
When you reach the narrow passageway, you'll have a conversation with the Little Sister Machine. She will give you Pink Ribbon - this is one of the cosmetic items and you can put it on in the Key Items tab. These items only change the appearance of the character - they do not affect their statistics.
Go back to the Machine Village and talk to Big Sister Machine. You will receive the rewards and complete the quest.
Rewards for completing the quest:
- Blue Ribbon x1 - a cosmetic item, but this ribbon has a different color (blue)
- 5,000G
- 750XP
The Wandering Couple
Quest giver: Resistance Member (Machine Village)
You can start this quest in chapter 5. A marker symbolizing the quest should appear on the Machine Village's map. This is the lowest section where the camera goes back behind the character's back. You'll meet deserters there - promise that you will help them.
Quest description: First, you have to obtain an Elaborate Gadget. You need to go back to the Abandoned Factory. For information on how to return to the location from the beginning of the game, visit Factory from the prologue - how to return?.
Get back to the place where you fought with two big Buzzsaws during the prologue. Near the high fence, you will find glowing loot - it will be the Elaborate Gadget. Return it to the Resistance members from the Machine Village.
The deserters will tell you about their plans to leave the machine village. You have to wait until a new marker associated with this quest appears on the world map - it is shown in the attached image. This is part of Flooded City and you can't get there until after reaching Chapter 7 in which this part of the world map will be unlocked.
Find the deserters in the marked place - you need to give them 50,000 gold to ensure their successful escape. After you hand over the funds, leave the Flooded City for a while to update the quest. Get to the new marker and interact with the male deserter. Then head to the Amusement Park to find the female deserter.
You need to find Memory Alloy - you can get it, e.g. by killing Medium Bipeds (medium-sized machines) in the City Ruins. Give them the item to end the quest.
Rewards for completing the quest:
- Pearl x5
- Medium Recovery x3
- Moldavite x4

If you want to unlock all the rewards associated with this quest, you will need to invest a total of 180,000G. Fortunately, you do not have to spend such a huge amount of money right away. Family Squabble
Quest giver: Mother Machine (Machine Village)
You can do this quest in Chapter 5. The marker shown in the image should appear on the path leading to the Machine Village from the City Ruins.
When you get there, you'll witness an argument. Talk to the Mother Machine. You will be asked to find the child.
A marker associated with this quest will appear in the City Ruins - it is near the place where you can do the quests from the Robo Dojo group. The escaped child will be attacked by other machines - you have to deal with them.
Talk to the Lost Machine and defeat another group of machines. After that, go together towards Pascal's village. Expect more clashes along the way - the enemies should be around levels 15-18. Safely bringing the child near the passage leading to the Machine Village to pass the quest.

You will learn that the quest giver's child has deliberately locked itself in the nearby hut. Stand in front of the hut and hold the Triangle to start hacking - you will start a mini-game during which you have to go through an obstacle course. As a reminder, you must quickly destroy the black objects and follow the right path - some of the routes are dead ends. At the end of the path, you have to destroy a black ball. Fortunately, if you fail the mini-game, you will be able to replay it.

Quest description: The general assumptions are identical. Talk to the mother machine and use hacking on the hut's door where the child machine is hiding. The hacking mini-game will be slightly more difficult. Try to quickly go through the maze as the last few blocks are more durable - you will need more time to destroy them. Watch the cut-scene.
Rewards for completing the quest:
- Medium Recovery x1
- Machine Leg x2
- Ranged Attack Up (L) x1
- Resilience 3 Chip
- 5,000G

Quest description: You must once again offer to help the mother who has a problem with a child who has barricaded itself in a cabin. Unfortunately, the mini-game will be even more challenging than before.
Do not waste time attacking enemies - you will not be able to pass the mini-game. Instead, focus on shooting the black blocks so you can quickly sneak past the attacking objects. Also, avoid hitting the orange blocks because they also can damage and kill you.
Rewards for completing the quest:
- Large Recovery x1
- Damage Absorb 3 Chip
- Machine Head x2
- Skill Salve (L) x1
- Machine Torso x2
- 10,000G

Data on the Old World
Quest giver: Pascal (Machine Village). The quest is only available in Route B.
You can do this quest after reaching Chapter 6 in Route B. Wait for the quest marker to appear above Pascal's head. Then, talk to the village leader.
Quest description: As the quest's name suggests, Pascal wants to gather information about an ancient civilization. This quest is about finding Archives, which can be hidden in selected chests that can be opened only by 9S's hacking. After finding one of the Archives, the quest will be updated. It is also possible that some of the Archives will already be unlocked when you start the quest - you can then immediately give them to Pascal. The quest giver will pay for each Archive with gold (you will get various amounts of gold).
In the second part of the quest, you will need to get the Nuclear Arms Manual archive. You need to search one of the buildings in the City Ruins. You will recognize it by the roots coming out of it.
Rewards for completing the quest:
There are two ways in which you can complete the quest.
The first option is to give Pascal the archive. You will get:
- Heal Drops Up 6 Chip
- Clean Nut x3
- Skill Salve (L) x1
- Large Recovery x1
- 3,000G
- 1300XP
The second option is bringing the archive to Commander from the bunker. You will get:
- Meteorite x1
- Large Recovery 1
- Stun 6 Chip
- 5,000G
Note - Do not leave this quest for later, because it can be canceled. If that happens, you will have to use the chapter select option to start it again.
Idiot Savant
Quest giver: Friend Machine (Machine Village). The quest is only available in Route B.
During one of the visits to the Machine Village in Chapter 6, you should notice the quest icon above one of the machines. Talk to the Friend Machine.
Quest description: As 9S, you have to hack (hold Triangle) into the mind of a machine that has serious problems with logical thinking. This will start an unusual version of the hacking mini-game - the map will be divided into 9 squares. Use the fact that the enemies are not able to destroy the black blocks. Eliminate them one after another. Remember to move to the sides a lot. A good idea is to start with the most difficult objects to destroy, i.e. those that keep shooting. This will reduce the risk of repeating the entire mini-game.
Rewards for completing the quest:
- Machine Arm x2
- Machine Leg x2
- Machine Head x2
- Machine Torso x2
- Machine Core x1
- Hijack Boost 6 Chip
- 10,000G
- 1300XP

Defeat a single enemy. After winning the fight, return to Pascal.

- Sturdy Socket x3
- Medium Recovery x2
- Memory Alloy x2

You will them in the Amusement Park. There are several red circles on the map and each of them represents a separate location you need to search. You can get Toy Material by interacting with the glowing loot lying on the ground.
