Crafting equipment in God of War

1. Visit any of the dwarves' shops to craft pieces of armor for torso, arms and waist. Each piece offers different bonuses and can increase/decrease Kratos' stats. It is best to choose armor items that match your chosen play style in the best way possible (for example, by dealing as much damage as possible or by being able to withstand enemy attacks).
2. Each part of armor requires a certain amount of materials. You can get them from chests, fallen enemies or you can find them while you are exploring the world. Some of them can also be bought from the dwarves.
3. You can also craft an armor for Atreus to increase his combat skills and have various effects, e.g. the boy will deal more melee damage. It's not worth ignoring this topic, because Atreus can increasingly beat Kratos in eliminating or distracting enemies over time.
4. Pommel is another part of equipment that can be crafted - usually, it offers a certain chance (in percentage) of activating an effect (extra health, stronger attacks) which is useful in fights.
5. You can also craft talismans - these powerful items offer you a chance of activating a special ability such as slowing down time or a barrier that will protect Kratos from attacks.

Upgrading equipment

1. Your equipment can be upgraded in the dwarves' shop. A small arrow and a circle is displayed next to the level of each weapon - this informs you about a weapon's level and a potential for future upgrades. For example, the item presented in the picture above can be upgraded to level six and currently that item has upgrade level one of the fourth level.
2. The same goes for crafting - you have to pay a certain amount of materials and Hacksilver to upgrade an item. More valuable items require rare and hard to obtain materials. It is not worth upgrading all the "normal" items you acquire. It is best to save resources and hacksilver for upgrading more valuable items later.
3. Some items can be enchanted - select a slot and place an enchantment into it to further increase Kratos' stats. Better armors have, e.g. three enchantment slots which is very helpful for more challenging battles.

Which items are worth buying?

1. Always buy a resurrection stone - after some time you will be able to buy their better versions. Thanks to this item , Atreus will be able to resurrect Kratos during battles, but keep in mind that this is a one-time use item. They are useful in more difficult fights where, e.g. you have to fight with enemies that have a higher level than yours.
2. You should also look for valuable enchantments and materials. Over time, you will gain a lot of Hacksilver and materials - you should definitely spend them in the store on an ongoing basis.
