God of War: Can Atreus die in the game? God of War Guide and Walkthrough
Last update: 05 January 2023
In this chapter of the God of War game guide we'll answer the question of whether Atreus (Kratos' son) can die. This is an important question because Atreus takes an active role in many of the battles that take place and he can get into trouble if he is not directly controlled.
Atreus is the son of Kratos and your companion throughout the game. He also takes part in most of the fights and thus exposes himself to danger. Is the boy able to die?
The answer is - no. Enemy blows can, at most for a moment, put Atreus out of balance, so that he can't use his bow. But after a while, he will return full of strength to the battle. The boy does not have a health bar and is actually indestructible. In addition, he usually stays away and uses mainly a bow to fight.
Furthermore, some enemies are able to catch Atreus and the boy will then call for help. However, without fear - even without our intervention, the opponent will finally get bored of the boy and let him go slowly, without killing him. So you don't have to worry at all about the life of Kratos's son - he will be more and more useful in the battle and you will never have to worry about the possibility of his sudden death.
