Numerous challenging battles await you. - Chapter 14 - Homecoming | Main storyline - Main storyline - Final Fantasy XV Game Guide
Numerous challenging battles await you.

Run straight ahead, eliminating multiple powerful enemies along the way. Use various weapons, as some enemies are vulnerable to Ring of the Lucii (and Alterna), whereas others receive increased damage from light-imbued weapons. Smaller rooms are filled with groups of stronger enemies, guarding items such as Mega Phoenix or Hi-Elixir - which you definitely should try to get.

You dont have to fight all of the enemies - run along the road until you run into Talcott. - Chapter 14 - Homecoming | Main storyline - Main storyline - Final Fantasy XV Game Guide
You don't have to fight all of the enemies - run along the road until you run into Talcott.

Reach the road and stick to it while travelling towards the marker. There are multiple, extremely high-leveled daemons along the road. If you're up to the challenge you can take them on, but remember that you're on your own and the battles will be difficult. The wisest thing to do is to simply avoid any encounters and run towards the meeting place. Sooner or later you will run into Talcott and he will help you to get to the destination.

Purchasing Durandal is highly recommended, as it will be extremely useful in the upcoming battles. - Chapter 14 - Homecoming | Main storyline - Main storyline - Final Fantasy XV Game Guide
Purchasing Durandal is highly recommended, as it will be extremely useful in the upcoming battles.

Once there the prince will reunite with his friends. There are new weapons available at the weapon store and you should definitely purchase some of them (Durandal, a sword imbued with Light, is extremely effective against the upcoming enemies). Additionally, there's Red Choker lying on the bar stool - this piece of gear increases health regeneration. Head to the exit gate and leave the location. Prepare the best meal you can to strengthen your party and prepare for the challenging battles.

Once you've dealt with the imperial soldiers you will be near the capital city. There's a rest room near the entrance where you can call Umbra - you can move back in time to get back to the continent. It's wise to do so when your party is below level 50, as the encounters awaiting you will be challenging. Additionally, make sure you purchase a lot of curatives, Remedies and so on. Your task is to reach an underground tunnel. There are some powerful enemies on the surface, such as:

Iseultalon - an extremely powerful (level 72 - Chapter 14 - Homecoming | Main storyline - Main storyline - Final Fantasy XV Game Guide

Iseultalon - an extremely powerful (level 72!) enemy, a copy of Deathclaw from chapter 12. You must avoid his laser attacks and you should use greatswords against this foe. Ignis' ability, imbuing Noctis' weapon with fire, will also greatly help. Focus on melee combat and try to block enemy's attacks. Remember to use the option to summon if an opportunity arises.

Nagarani - a single enemy like that is difficult to deal with and you will be facing two at the same time - Chapter 14 - Homecoming | Main storyline - Main storyline - Final Fantasy XV Game Guide

Nagarani - a single enemy like that is difficult to deal with and you will be facing two at the same time. Nagarani are vulnerable to greatswords and lightning-imbued attacks. Gladio's abilities are also very effective against them. Nagarani can petrify and turn your characters into toads, which is why you should have plenty of Remedies at your disposal. Focus your attacks on a single enemy to take it out as quickly as possible.

Ariadne - a harmless enemy, especially in comparison to the previously described foes - Chapter 14 - Homecoming | Main storyline - Main storyline - Final Fantasy XV Game Guide

Ariadne - a harmless enemy, especially in comparison to the previously described foes. You can easily avoid her attacks and focus on counters. Greatswords and fire-imbued attacks are extremely effective against her.

Use the tunnel to cross to the other side.

Go through the tunnel where a small group of imperial soldiers and daemons await you. Afterwards, go through the gate and use the stairs to get back on the surface. You will now be facing the first boss of this chapter - Behemoth King.

Boss - Behemoth King

Behemoth Kings attacks are easy to block and/or counter. - Chapter 14 - Homecoming | Main storyline - Main storyline - Final Fantasy XV Game Guide
Behemoth King's attacks are easy to block and/or counter.

Although the enemy looks impressive, Behemoth King isn't a difficult foe. The enemy is vulnerable to greatswords and completely immune to ice. Its melee attacks can be easily blocked and countered. From time to time the enemy will leap into the air and crash on the ground, freezing the area near the point of impact. You should use blade-warp to avoid the attack. Another thing you should watch out for is an area-of-effect freezing attack - the enemy will telegraph it by raising its front legs into the air. Again, blade-warp will allow you to avoid it.

The enemy should soon be dead - Chapter 14 - Homecoming | Main storyline - Main storyline - Final Fantasy XV Game Guide

The enemy should soon be dead. Use the rest room next to the entrance to the capital and don't forget that you can use Umbra to get back to Lucis to resupply, as there are two more encounters awaiting you here. Once you're ready, get through the gate and run towards the building.

Boss - Ifrit

Use warp-strike to damage Ifrit.

A scene you know from the prologue of the game. At the beginning of the encounter Ifrit will be sitting on the throne. Use warp-strikes to reach the enemy and damage him. Ifrit's attacks will be harmless and this phase of the encounter should soon end. The real battle begins after the intervention of Bahamut.

Try to attack the enemy when hes covered with flames. - Chapter 14 - Homecoming | Main storyline - Main storyline - Final Fantasy XV Game Guide
Try to attack the enemy when he's covered with flames.

The boss is quite easy to defeat - his attacks are easy to read and block. Additionally, you should use weapons imbued with ice to deal additional damage. Ifrit becomes invulnerable once he is covered with flames - plan your warp-strikes accordingly to hit the foe when he's vulnerable again.

Block enemy attacks. - Chapter 14 - Homecoming | Main storyline - Main storyline - Final Fantasy XV Game Guide
Block enemy attacks.

Similarly to Behemoth King, the enemy will leap into the air and perform a fiery attack from the air. It's easy to dodge/counter it and the attack itself isn't that dangerous. At the end of the encounter you will be able to summon Shiva to end the battle and gain a new power.

Get inside and use the elevator - Chapter 14 - Homecoming | Main storyline - Main storyline - Final Fantasy XV Game Guide

Get inside and use the elevator. Once there, head back into the elevator and use it to get to the lower floor, as you will be able to collect a hidden weapon - Ulric's Kukris. Get back to the place where you've encountered Ifrit. This time a pair of Red Giants will be waiting there. The enemies take reduced damage from most types of attacks, aside from Light. The encounter will be long and fierce.

Attack the enemy from behind and avoid his special attacks at all costs. - Chapter 14 - Homecoming | Main storyline - Main storyline - Final Fantasy XV Game Guide
Attack the enemy from behind and avoid his special attacks at all costs.

Afterwards, head to the place shown on the map - a powerful enemy called Psychomancer (level 82) awaits you there. The enemy has an insane amount of health points and his attacks deal huge damage. If you're up to the challenge you can try to defeat the enemy and the powerful daggers will be yours. Try to attack the enemy from behind and avoid his breath and beam attacks at all costs. The enemy is quite easy to read and the reward is definitely worth the effort. Afterwards, head back to the elevator and prepare for the last encounter in the game. Ardyn will incapacitate the rest of your party and you will be forced to follow him.

Final Boss - Ardyn

Ardyn has access to the same techniques as Noctis - he frequently changes weapons, sues warp-strikes and spells - Chapter 14 - Homecoming | Main storyline - Main storyline - Final Fantasy XV Game Guide

Ardyn has access to the same techniques as Noctis - he frequently changes weapons, sues warp-strikes and spells. Additionally, he doesn't have any weapon or element weakness. The wisest thing to do is to focus on dodging his attacks and performing counters whenever it's possible. Most of the enemy's attacks can be easily countered - fast weapons such as Ulric's Kukris that you just had a chance to collect are a perfect choice.

Shorten the distance and attack Ardyn all the time. - Chapter 14 - Homecoming | Main storyline - Main storyline - Final Fantasy XV Game Guide
Shorten the distance and attack Ardyn all the time.

Once you take out a specific portion of Ardyn's health, a new phase of the encounter will begin. From now on both of you will start using the power of the ancestors. Attack the enemy all the time and heal if needed. You should focus on melee combat to prevent the enemy from using any tricks. Block Ardyn's attacks whenever an opportunity arises.

No time for dodges and blocks - the last phase of the encounter is a life and death struggle. - Chapter 14 - Homecoming | Main storyline - Main storyline - Final Fantasy XV Game Guide
No time for dodges and blocks - the last phase of the encounter is a life and death struggle.

Both of you will get back to the ground at the end of the encounter. It's time for a short phase where you won't be able to dodge his attacks. Attack Ardyn with the sword of your father and press the button when the prompt appears. This will end the battle in a spectacular way. Congratulations, you've finished the main storyline!
