Prologue
As soon as the game begins, run towards the fire. Subsequent sections will lead to a cutscene that will introduce you to the story.
Unfortunately, your car is having a bad day, leaving you with no choice that to push it to the nearest car mechanic. After the cutscene, approach Cindy and collect the world map. Then, it would be a good idea to get to know the town and talk to the shopkeepers.
The Pauper Prince
Recommended level: 1
Client: Ignis
Exp: 100
Reward: -
Talk to Cindy and ask her to lend you some money to fix the car. You'll get 1000 gil. Now head for the marker that appeared on the map.
Your task is to defeat some Reapertails, well-fed but pretty much harmless scorpions. After the hunt is done, Cindy will call you and the quest will be completed.
Hunter Becomes the Hunted
Recommended level: 1
Client: Cindy
Exp: 150
Reward: -
Head for the abandoned shack. There, you'll have to deal with some aggressive Sabertusks. After you're done, go outside and head for the other house. Use point warp to teleport onto the windmill and attack the newly-appeared enemies. Once your done, one of the local residents will tell you of a dangerous creature that's roaming those parts.
The Mutant Marauder
Recommended level: 2
Client: Cindy
Exp: 200
Reward: -
Before the hunt, you will be asked whether you want to set up camp first. It would be a good idea to agree to develop your team so head for the campsite and make yourself comfortable. Choose one of Ignis' dishes to power up specific parameter of your party.
What's more important, resting enables your characters to level-up. You can also check out the photos Prompto was taking throughout the day.
Once you're done, head for the marker and take on the Bloodhorn. Use Gladio, Tempest and focus your attacks on the enemy's flanks. Return to Cindy to complete the quest.
The Errand Prince
Recommended level: 2
Client: Cindy
Exp: 50
Reward: -
Hop in the car and deliver Cindy's package to the motel. Talk to the owner to trigger one of Noctis' memories. Choose one of the available answer options (NOTE! Dialogue options you choose have virtually no major effect on the course of the game) and hit the road once again. Once you're there, fill your fuel tank, restock your potions (remember that you can shop when entering the car) and board the ferry. After a short conversation, head for the end of the docks. Now turn back and talk to Dino.
A Gentlemen's Agreement
Recommended level: -
Client: Dino
Exp: 300
After talking to the journalist, who will quickly recognize that Noctis is the prince, head over to Regalia and then choose the location of the quest as your destination. Run up the hill (it is worth exploring the surrounding area and gathering valuable resources), until you reach a giant sleeping animal.
Do not come too close and walk around the creature. Then approach the nearby mineral and take it. Try returning via the same route.. which will wake the beast. Thankfully, it will simply fly away - return to the car and head over to Dino.
When you are ready, talk to the journalist to get to the deck of the ship. You will leave this specific part of the world for some time, so if you still want to finish a few side quests, or explore some part of this area, hold off with your decision.
Ill Tidings
Recommended level: 4
Client: Noctis
Exp: 350
After the dreadful news from the capital, the team will decide to see for themselves what really happened. After a short ride and encountering a blockade, Noctis and the others will leave the car. Keep running forwards and fighting consecutive groups of imperial guards.
It is worth using quick weapons and teleportation abilities, in order to quickly close the gap between you and your enemies. You should also prioritize fighting snipers. After a few skirmishes, Noctis will confront the bitter truth about his home city and his father, and the first chapter will come to an end.
