Hunter caches | Legend of the Mammoth
Far Cry Primal Guide
Last update: 11 May 2016
Hunter caches are an unusual kind of collectibles. They are not shown on the map until you get 5-10 meters from them. Then it will be shown and its icon will disappear after you take the resources from it. Actually, every hunter cache is a wall painting, the player's task is to guess which area it concerns and go there. If you guess correctly, you can use the hunter vision to find a red cache (in the ground) where you can find unique skins and rare materials.
Remember that you need to come really close to see a cache. You do not interact with the painting - it just shows you a location in Oros that you have to go to.
The map shows all caches with numbers 1-7. If "s" is placed next to the number, it signifies a place where you should look for resources.
Hunter cache #1
The painting is southwest from the Kapal Outpost. Go along the river. You will find a claw point near the place shown on the map. Climb up, then land on a ledge on the right.
Go down from the place where you found the cache and head east, then upward. It is the place where you first met Wogah the Crafter. Use the hunter vision to find the cache below a stone passage.
Hunter cache #2
The drawing is on the rock, in the corner.
After you see the painting, go towards the path and turn north. After a moment, you should see blue rocks on the left. You will find a hut among them.
Enter the hut. The cache is behind the altar.
Hunter cache #3
The painting is on the wall, by the hill.
The cache itself is located near a river. Go to the southeast, then find a river bend with several stone statues. The cache is below a fallen tree.
Hunter cache #4
This area is located between central and northern Oros. You will find it between rocks, in the lower part of this area.
Turn around and go forward. You will see an entrance to a gorge. Use a claw point and descend. Use the hunter vision to find a small ledge (vines, stone barricade). Land on it and destroy the obstacle, then go farther inside.
You will find footprints that will lead you to the cache.
Hunter cache #5
There is a bonfire near the Great Prashrawa (waterfall). Starting there, head northeast while staying close to the mountains. You will find the painting ~200 ft from the bonfire.
When it comes to the cache, go back to the waterfall. While facing it, move to the eastern shore. Get close to the water while sticking to the mountains. You will see a convex cache at the end.
Hunter cache #6
Go north from the village. The painting is located on a small island. You will see it on the left while walking along the rocks.
Now head towards the place that you have already visited during a quest for Wogah the Crafter (farther to the north, to a place where a stream emerges - you will hear and see eagles above the water). Use the grappling claw a few times to climb to the very top.
You will find the cache by the nest.
Hunter cache #7
This painting can be found near a large tree. Start navigating from the end of the mountain range and keep going north, having the mountains on your right.
When you find the painting, go ~100 ft to the west. You will find a small camp. Next, jump down and, facing the gate, turn towards the giant tree. The cache is in front of it.
