How and When You Should Start The Following? Dying Light: The Following Guide
Last update: 03 June 2016
The content available in The Following is revealed regardless of the campaign from the basic game - new quests and areas are not added automatically. In order to play Dying Light: The Following, the player has to return to the main menu, choose the expansion from the available options and confirm a new game. It would be wise to do so once you gain enough experience as Kyle Crane, because all the acquired skills and equipment will be transferred to The Following. It is not obligatory (the game requires that you finish the prologue of the basic campaign), but if you start the game with a weak character, you can have major difficulties throughout the gameplay. You should start the game once Kyle reaches level 18-19 and all the skill trees (Power, Agility and Survivor) have been fully upgraded. This will grant him better resistance and make him more effective when it comes to using his parkour abilities. Furthermore, make sure to provide your hero with at least few quality melee weapons and firearms and equipment such as medicaments and a grappling hook.
At the beginning, you will be asked to choose the difficulty level. A good idea is to start the game on a normal or high difficulty level and leave the Nightmare mode for later.
