How to defeat Beelzebufo? | Side quests - Other locations Dying Light: The Following Guide
Last update: 11 May 2016
Beelzebufo can be found at the household located at the southern section of the map, shown on the above screenshot. You can get there at your own accord, or during the completion of the Harvest side quest, which is precisely about the elimination of this monster.
You can enter the household by climbing through the main gate. Beelzebufo is a (significantly) stronger version of the regular Toad. The monster will attack you with its venomous spill attack. In order to keep the main character alive, you need to avoid the attacks by side-stepping, or jumping backwards and / or using the many covers here whenever the enemy is preparing its spilling maneuver.
Note - aside from the main monster, you have to reckon with the fact that the sounds of battle might lure other monsters (like running infected) to join the fight. The area doesn't offer many places to hide from those monsters, which is why you must be ready to drop the battle with the Beelzebufo and eliminate all other threats first.
As it was aforementioned, the boss can be weakened in a variety of different ways, which means that you don't have to stick to a single, "best" strategy. If you are planning on fighting the enemy from a distance, use your firearms, bow, crossbow, as well as throwing weapons. Additionally, try to use the most effective variants of equipment, such as weapons dealing explosive, or elemental damage. By using said weapons, you will be able to deplete the health bar of the Beelzebufo a lot quicker. Regardless of your weapon of choice, attack the boss constantly and stay behind a good cover, which will protect you in case the enemy decides to use its spilling attack.
Note - if you are planning on eliminating the enemy with a shotgun, you can't stand in point-blank range, and should attack the enemy from medium range instead. While using a shotgun you must perform side-steps and dodges flawlessly, otherwise you will suffer serious damage.
Another strategy to deal with the Beelzebufo requires you to use melee weapons, and you should decide for it only if you have access to the best melee weapons available (with some upgrades installed, if possible). It's crucial, as, in contrast to a regular Toad, you won't be able to kill the enemy with a single strike. Use the hit & run tactics - quickly approach the enemy, throw a single (if you are wielding a two-handed weapon) or a number of (if you are using a fast, one-handed weapon) attacks, and quickly retreat to a safe spot (preferably behind a solid cover) to regain any lost health. It's the most dangerous strategy to use against this enemy, but allowing you to quickly eliminate the enemy - provided that you are using the best possible melee weapon.
You must deplete the health bar of the enemy in order to defeat the monster. As a reward for your hard work, you will be given an unique blueprint - Hot Swing.
