Avoid contact with the fire.

In order to get to the boss, you must get through a huge blockade on the highway. Fortunately, you can do so by squeezing through one of the edges (left or right). Thor is the more powerful version of the regular Thug and is using a huge two-handed weapon for his attacks. Jumping backwards when dealing with the enemy may be quite ineffective, as his powerful attacks tend to ignite various puddles of gasoline present on the field of battle, as well as cause explosions of the elements of the environment. This is precisely why you should avoid standing near such places. If the enemy manages to cause fire, stay as far from it as possible.

Note - the boss is accompanied by a group of normal infected, which should be dealt with at the very beginning of the encounter. Sounds of battle will almost certainly lure some running infected, although the majority of them should be unable to cross the blockade, and will remain harmless at the other side of the wall.

Try to aim at the head of the enemy. - How to defeat Thor? | Side quests - Other locations - Other locations | Side Quests - Dying Light: The Following Game Guide
Try to aim at the head of the enemy.

Thor should be dealt with by using ranged attacks. This is the most effective strategy against this enemy, as the monster is extremely sluggish and completely deprived of any ranged attacks. You can damage the enemy with firearms (assault rifles, shotguns) and / or thrown items (Fragmentation Grenades, Molotov Cocktails, Exploding Throwing Stars). The most effective part of the body to shoot at is the head - given the movement speed of your foe you should be able to hit it without must effort.

You can rely on (fast) melee attacks. - How to defeat Thor? | Side quests - Other locations - Other locations | Side Quests - Dying Light: The Following Game Guide
You can rely on (fast) melee attacks.

Additionally, the boss can be dealt with by using melee attacks, although it's a less effective, as well as more dangerous strategy. If you plan on using this approach despite all this, you must use the same strategy as when fighting regular Thugs. Force the enemy to perform his attack, quickly jump to the side, and throw a couple of your own attacks when the monster is regaining balance. Remember about staying away from places that can get ignited / explode when the enemy attacks them.

You must deplete the health bar of the enemy in order to defeat the monster. As a reward for your hard work, you will be given an unique blueprint - Portable Charger.
