Recommended level: 12 lvl (Normal)/16 lvl (Hard)

Team: 1-3 players

You start this mission at the standard deployment point in the Headlands. Follow the mission marker into the neighboring location, called the Ember Caves. You need to access the underground den of The Fallen. The entrance is on a hillock at the other end of the location and it is being occupied by the forces of The Fallen, i.e. several Dregs, Vandals, Shanks and a Reaver Captain, who is the tougher version of the regular Captain. After you clear the hill, head into the den, through the rocky entrance.

Keep going ahead, overcome the obstacles in your way and, after a while, you will walk into a small cave occupied by the enemy. Deal with them and follow the next tunnel, It will take you to a much larger cave with lots of enemies inside. Focus on the first level first, where there are several Dregs, Shanks and Vandals, and walk over the plank to the second level. Apart from the opponents from the first level, you will also find 3 Kell's Guards here, two of which are with swords and one with a plasma rifle. They behave just like the regular Vandals but, they are much tougher and a bit more aggressive. First, deal with the guard with the firearm, preferably from atop an elevation and then deal with the marauders and the two guards with swords.

After you clear the area, follow another tunnel that takes you to the surface of The Cinders, which is a Darkness Zone. Right after you exit the tunnel, you will notice a huge cruiser of The Fallen. Your objective is to gain access into the ship. Follow the rocky path, along the left wall, and after a while you will get to the very bottom of the location. You are going to face a horde, of Dregs, Shanks, Vandals and a Servitor and a Captain here. It is best to climb up the nearby rocks, projecting from the left wall and conduct fire from there. Deal with the weaker units first and the Servitor. After that, jump down and run towards the ship's entrance to deal with the Captain. Then, over the bridge, to the external deck and kill the incoming Shanks, Dregs and Vandals. take advantage of the surrounding covers to avoid being hit by the Vandals with sniper rifles, lurking in the hangar, keep moving towards the main gate and keep eliminating the enemies in sight. As soon as you enter the hangar, you will be jumped by another group of several Dregs, 2 Stealth Vandals and a Reaver Captain. Clear the lower deck of the opponents and head across the entrance into the ship.

Your destination is the throne room somewhere in the central part of the ship. However, along your path, you will have to cut through several rooms occupied by the opponents. In the first one, you will run into a small group of Dregs, Shanks and Vandals. Kill them and head into the next room, which is much bigger. Inside, there is a group of Dregs, Shanks, Vandals, a Servitor and a Kell's Guard. Once you clear this room, follow the corridor into the last hall, which is the throne room and the site of the battle with the boss- Draksis, Winter Kell.

Start the battle by ensuring yourself with more freedom, by eliminating Dregs, Shanks and 2 Kell's Guard. Focus then on the boss himself. Draksis Has no special abilities of mechanics. His fighting pattern is identical with that of a regular Captain, but he has more health. Also, he can teleport over short distances, mainly to avoid damage. The important thing is that you keep a safe distance and, under no circumstances, attack the opponent with the melee weapon. Draksis can perform a shattering AoE attack that is capable of running your health down completely. For this reason, it is best to attack him at a long distance and take advantage of the nearby covers and platforms, which separate you from the boss.

After you defeat the enemy, this mission ends and you return to your ship, after a while.

Reward: +3000 XP (Normal)/+3600 XP (Hard)
