Crucible | Types of missions Destiny Guide
Last update: 11 May 2016
Crucible mode allows you to play PvP matches on special maps. The gameplay is not very different from other modes, but here you fight against other players, not computer-controlled characters. Crucible offers several game modes - each of them has its own rules, objectives and number of players. During the match, players use all of their equipment, weapons and abilities. Levels are balanced so a player on level 20 can be killed by someone on level 2. To unlock Crucible, just get one character to level 5 and this mode will be unlocked for all current and future characters.
Crucible has its own faction and rare items available for a special currency - Crucible Marks. Players get 3 Crucible Marks for every game they win, 2 for a lost one. They can be exchanged in The Tower with Arcite 99-40 or Lord Shaxx for powerful legendary weapons. You can earn up to 100 Crucible Marks every week and only players on level 18 or higher get them. You can improve your rank with Crucible faction. They have three ranks for 1500, 2000 and 2500 reputation points. The higher your rank, the better equipment you can get. You can earn points by completing Crucible quests (bounties).
Crucible has various game modes that you can select in the navigation screen. Below you can see a brief description of all modes:
- Clash - mode for up to 12 players divided into two teams that fight to earn the most kills.
- Control - mode based on controlling three points on the map. Two teams face each other, six players each. The objective is to get 20 000 points. Team members get 100 points for killing an enemy, 25 points for neutralizing enemy point and 75 points for capturing a point.
- Rumble - "free-for-all" fight where 6 players fight against each other. The player with most points wins.
- Skirmish - mode for six players divided into two teams. Players fight to have the most points for kills. Unlike Clash mode, players can revive their teammates and get 50 points for it.
