Introduction | Gold Chests Destiny Guide
Last update: 01 February 2017
You can find two kinds of chests containing loots. A basic chest will change its appearance depending on a planet which you can find it on. The second kind includes smooth, golden chests. Golden chests can be found in every bigger location, five chests per each, what gives twenty chests in total. The last chest from every planet can be found during a Strike quest. You can find out how many chests did you already opened in a specific area by watching the bottom right corner of a map. Opening chests is completely optional and you don't have to find any of them to complete the game. However it's also an interesting part for people looking for additional entertainment and also for people who want to collect unique items. Golden chests mostly contain more valuable equipment than basic chests. However both kinds of chests have a random loot which may include weapon, parts of armor, sometimes even resources (such as weapon-upgrade parts). You don't have to look for chests while completing your quests however it's the easier way since it will allow you to save your time and also you will not have to kill again the enemies which you will find in these locations. If you have missed any chest you can always return to it by playing in the Patrol mode.
