Days Gone: How to use fast travel? Days Gone guide, walkthrough
Last update: 12 December 2022
Days Gone offers a mechanism for fast travel, although you cannot use it at any time of the game. On this page of the guide, you will learn when you can activate fast travel and what are the additional requirements to use it.
Fast travel only allows you to move to large zones on the world map. At the beginning of the game it was only usable at Hideout on Top of O'Leary and the camps lived by friendly people. As you progress through the game, you can unlock new fast travel points. These may be places that used to be, for example, bandit camps, robber camps, or breeding grounds.
After confirming the "readiness" for a fast travel game will load a new area. Deacon's motorcycle consumes gasoline on the way to a new location and it will take a little time in the world of the game (in the case of a very long-distance travel it may even change the time of day).
Even if you select a fast travel point, the game may not allow you to perform this action. Here are the most common reasons for this state of things:
- Deacon is not standing by his bike (or sitting on it). You cannot use fast travel if you are separated by a long distance from the vehicle.
- There are some opponents nearby. You have to kill them or run away from them on the motorcycle.
- Deacon's motorcycle doesn't have enough fuel. At the time of highlighting some site with an available fast travel option you can get information about how much fuel the motorcycle consumes on the way to the planned location. The problem can be solved by filling up the motorcycle shortly before the fast travel option.
- Currently you are performing some important storyline mission. This only applies to a situation where, for example, Deacon has to follow someone, protect a friend, or stay on a site until the job is complete.
