Days Gone: How to increase stats permanently? Days Gone guide, walkthrough
Last update: 12 December 2022
Days Gone has minor RPG elements such as the option to improve the main character's stats. Read this page to learn how to increase Deacon's stats to make him more resistant and deadlier during fights.
The main character has three parameters - health, stamina, and focus. You can change their current values in, e.g. the Skills tab.
- Health determines Deacon's health bar.
- Stamina determines how long you can run or how many rolls you can perform.
- Focus has an impact on the slow-motion available during fights. You need to unlocked Focused Shot skill first - thanks to this ability you can spend focus points while you are aiming down the weapon.
You don't increase your stats by leveling up. The only rewards you get after you level up are skill points for new skills. You increase Deacon's stats by visiting NERO checkpoints and research sites. Both types of locations will be added to your map after you get close to them.
NERO Checkpoints are larger locations belonging to this organization. You can read about them on How to unlock access to NERO Checkpoints? page. A quick reminder - Deacon must always activate a generator by pouring fuel into it. The optional step is to find fuses.
NERO Research Sites are smaller locations - they resemble a mobile research facility. Check How to reach NERO Research Sites? page to learn more about them. To access some of them, you may have to, e.g. examine a cave or jump above a chasm with your motorbike (after you install nitrous boost).
Regardless of which type of NERO facility you visit, your goal is to find a white chest containing an Injector. Use this item to increase one of your stats permanently - health (press the Square), stamina (press the Triangle) or focus (press the Circle). The bar of that stat will extend by 25 points.
Develop Deacon accordingly to your needs. We recommend a balanced build - your hero won't be lacking in any of the categories. However, you can build your character differently, e.g. when you are trying to unlock Performance Enhanced trophy (you get it by maxing out one of the stats).
