Days Gone: How to repair weapons? Days Gone guide, walkthrough
Last update: 12 December 2022
Melee weapons in Days Gone, as the use is subject to wear. On this page of the guide we will show you how to unlock the weapon repair skill and what actions are required to repair melee weapons.
Repairs are only for melee weapons. Firearms in Days Gone don't use up within time. The exception are silencers that can be mounted on the firearms - unfortunately, those cannot be fixed.
The ability to repair melee weapons is unavailable in the beginning of the game. To unlock it, you need to acquire the skill of Field Repairs from the Melee category. This is one of the skills of the first level, and therefore available for purchase from the very beginning with your first skill point.
The current state of the melee weapon is displayed in the lower left corner of the screen - in the example shown in the provided image, the durability of the Bat Axe equals 87%. This stat decreases with each attack, which ended with a successful hit to the enemy. Don't let the indicator drop to 0% because the weapon will be useless. We recommend that you react after its durability drops to the level of 10-20 percent.
We encourage you to further invest in Hard Hitter skill and Home Run skill. Each of them increases the damage done by melee weapons. Thus, you can kill enemies with fewer blows and, as a result, use any melee weapon longer.
To fix the weapon, hold L1 to trigger the survival circle. Highlight the melee weapon you want to fix and press R2. You need scrap to fix the melee weapons. The more damaged the weapon, the more scrap units are required to fix it. Always have as many scrap pieces with you as you may carry. This will allow you to repair weapons immediately after they get damaged and protect them from permanent destruction.
